Principia's Johnson Named D3 Women's Basketball Hero of the Week
Principia College's Kara Johnson was named the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Hero of the Week by Hero Sports. Johnson beat out nine other players for the weekly honors, as voted on by fans at the website HeroSports.com. Johnson received 55% of the votes, with nearly 600 votes nation wide being submitted.
Johnson recorded 37 points and nine rebounds in her team's 77-71 win over MacMurray College, adding two steals. She finished 12-of-28 from the field and went 13-of-17 from the free-throw line. Johnson will now move on to included in the end of the year voting for Hero Sports Legend of the Year, which looks at all of the top weekly performances among NCAA Division III Women's Basketball.
