2018 Women's Basketball Tournament Preview
At A Glance
The 2018 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Tournament field includes Eureka College, Greenville University, Webster University, and Westminster College. This marks the first time in tournament history that all four programs in the tournament field have previously won a SLIAC Tournament Championship. Eureka won last year's title while Greenville captured theirs in 2016. Webster (2005 and 2011) and Westminster (2012 and 2013) have each won twice.
Tickets are $5 for adults, $2 for children 16 years of age or under and free for students with school I.D. (Children under age of 5 are free).

Game 2 - #1 Greenville vs. #4 Westminster, 8 p.m.

EUREKA COLLEGE 'RED DEVILS' After falling to 7-5 in their last game before the New Year the Red Devils went on a tear, winning their first seven games of 2018 and carry a four-game winning streak into this weekend's tournament. They are averaging a conference-best 81.1 points per game with a dangerous long-range game that averages 8.8 three's per contest. Defensively the Red Devils are holding their opponents to just 35-percent shooting, best in the SLIAC. Hayley Reneau garnered many of the headlines for Eureka this season, winning five Player of the Week awards. She is averaging 22.0 points per game and leads the SLIAC with 96 steals. Although Reneau received many honors she has support in Kennedy and Kerrigan Dura. Kennedy (12.8 ppg) and Kerrigan (7.0 ppg) both rank in the top six nationally in assists. |

GREENVILLE UNIVERSITY 'PANTHERS' One year after winning the program's first-ever SLIAC Tournament Championship, the Panthers took care of business and won the program's second-ever regular season title. The Panthers, who were picked first in the preseason coaches poll, are looking to go wire to wire as favorites this season as they host the tournament for the first time in school history. Greenville went 15-1 in conference play this year, their most conference wins since joining the SLIAC. They have won eight of their last nine with their only conference loss this year coming to Eureka back on January 20. Greenville averages 79.2 points per game and leads the SLIAC with a 46.8-percent team field goal percentage. Wesley Woodard is at the center of the team's shooting, averaging 13.4 points per game and knocking down 59-percent of her shots. Laura Goodnight can play inside and outside and is averaging 11.5 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. Maria Reinhard runs the offense, averaging 4.1 assists per game, and is dangerous from behind the arch; hitting 50-percent of her three-point shots. |

WEBSTER UNIVERSITY 'GORLOKS' Webster is making their 18th tournament trip, tied for the most in conference history. The Gorloks had won eight straight before suffering a loss to Greenville in the regular season finale. They are averaging 77.0 points per game and allow a conference-best 60.9 points per game on defense. The Gorloks play a high-pressure defense that averages 17.2 steals per game. A deep rotation at the guard position is led by the trio of Kelsey Miller (9.6 ppg), Jaysea Morgan (8.5 ppg), and Jade Sawyer (7.7 ppg). The Gorloks also have the Lucas sisters, Aley and Taylor. Aley leads the team at 12.9 points per game while Taylor is averaging 10.3 points per game. To highlight the Gorloks depth, they have six players that average two or more assists and two or more steals per game. |

WESTMINSTER COLLEGE 'BLUE JAYS' Westminster played two must-win games in the last week of the regular season and they met their goal. The Blue Jays are averaging 74.6 points per game this season and led the league with 68.6 shots per game. They also led the conference in free-throws made (16.5) and attempted (23.7) and rebounding margin. The Blue Jays are led by Kendahl Adams, who is averaging 19.5 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. Adams, who has won four Player of the Week awards this year, is their go-to player; getting off over 17 shots per game. The Blue Jays have plenty of size inside with Mirrakohl Johnson (12.7 points and 8.1 rebounds per game) and Grace Archambault (9.3 points and 9.6 rebounds per game). |
