2018-19 Women's Basketball Players of the Week
SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week - Feb. 19
Rylee Stafford, Fontbonne University
Stafford, a sophomore guard from Jackson, Mo., takes home her second weekly award this season. She averaged 27.5 points over two games for the Griffins including netting a career-high 31 points against Iowa Wesleyan. Stafford finished with 31 points, including six three-pointers, in that game while adding five rebounds and four steals. Stafford closed out her season with 24 points, going 11-of-12 from the free-throw line, against Spalding. On the week she shot 50-percent from the field and hit on 9-of-19 three-pointers.
SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week - Feb. 11
Kendahl Adams, Westminster College
Adams, a senior guard at Westminster College picks up her second weekly honor this season. She helped the Blue Jays to a pair of wins last week, averaging 23.5 points, 14.0 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game. Adams recorded 20 points and eight rebounds against Webster and followed with 27 points, 20 rebounds, and eight assists against Principia.
SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week - Feb. 4
Alex Martin, Spalding University
Alex Martin picks up her second straight Player of the Week award. Martin, a senior from Louisville, Ky., helped the Golden Eagles clinch a playoff spot with two conference wins last week. She tallied 12 points, 8 assists, and 6 steals in a narrow victory over Webster. Martin closed out her week with 35 points, on 13-of-22 shooting, in a win over Westminster. On the week she averaged 23.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 3.5 steals per game.
SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week - Jan. 28
Alex Martin, Spalding University
Martin, a senior guard from Louisville, Ky., led the Golden Eagles to a pair of conference wins last week. She scored 16 points, while grabbing six rebounds, and dishing out three assists against Eureka. Martin followed with 21 points and seven rebounds against Iowa Wesleyan. She was just as impressive on defense, recording three steals in both games. On the week she averaged 18.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 3.0 steals per game.
SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week - Jan. 21
Kallee Dowler, Westminster College
Dowler, a sophomore guard, helped the Blue Jays offense bust out last week for a pair of 100 point games. Dowler scored 17 points, on 5-of-11 shooting, in the first game of the week; a 114-66 win over MacMurray. She capped off her week with a career-high 30 points in Westminster's 103-61 victory over Iowa Wesleyan. Dowler knocked down eight three-pointers in the win, tying a school record for three-pointers in a game. She finished 12-of-21 from three-point range on the week, averaging 23.5 points and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 59-percent from the field.
SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week - Jan. 14
Chassidy Hays, MacMurray College
Hays captures her second consecutive weekly honor after averaging 23.0 points and 12.0 rebounds in two conference games last week. Hays shot 77-percent from the field on the week, scoring a high of 28 points against Spalding. That same game she grabbed 17 rebounds while going 13-of-14 from the field. Hays is currently averaging 17.8 points and 13.4 rebounds per game while shooting 64-percent from the field this season.
SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week - Jan. 7
Chassidy Hays, MacMurray College
Hays, a freshman forward, was a dominant force for the Highlanders over winter break; averaging 18.5 points and 14.0 rebounds in four games. She shot 55-percent from the floor and added seven steals and two blocked shots. Hays put together a 31 point and 23 rebound game against Illinois College, setting a school record for rebounds in a game. She is currently averaging a double-double this season.
SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week - Dec. 17
Rylee Stafford, Fontbonne University
Rylee Stafford, a sophomore from Jackson, Mo., claims the final SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week award before the turn of the New Year. Stafford stood out in a pair of losses, leading all scorers in both games. She tallied 23 points, hitting three three-pointers, against Washington-St. Louis. She added 10 rebounds in the game against the Bears. She followed by putting up a career-high 30 points against Westminster. She knocked down three more triples in that game. On the week she averaged 26.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game while shooting 43-percent from the field and going 9-for-9 from the free-throw line.
SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week - Dec. 10
Kendahl Adams, Westminster College
Adams, a senior guard, led the Blue Jays to an undefeated week including the program's first-ever win over Washington-St. Louis. Adams averaged 25.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists over the three games. She scored 29 points twice during the week including against perennial power WashU. Adams hit the game-winning three in the final seconds of the game and connected on 45-percent of her three's during the week.
SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week - Dec. 3
Addison Beussink, Webster University
Beussink, a freshman from Jackson, Mo., averaged 12.0 points and 9.0 rebounds in two Gorlok wins last week. She shot 63-percent from the field and was perfect from the free-throw line. Beussink recorded her third straight double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds in a win over Fontbonne. She closed out the week with 14 points and seven rebounds in a victory against Iowa Wesleyan.
SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week - Nov. 26
Mirrakohl Johnson, Westminster College
Johnson, a senior from Memphis, Tenn., recorded her second straight double-double after finishing with 14 points and 13 rebounds in a win over Central (Iowa). Johnson hit seven field goals in the game, grabbing six offensive rebounds. She also finished with four assists and five steals in the victory.
SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week - Nov. 19
Mirrakohl Johnson, Westminster College
Johnson, a senior from Memphis, Tenn., averaged a double-double for the Blue Jays in two games last week. She started the year with 24 points and 8 rebounds against Illinois College and followed with 22 points and 16 rebounds in a win over Millikin. Johnson also shot 55-percent from the floor on the week, going 18-of-33.
