Webster's Arias Selected for Costa Rica U20 World Cup Squad

ST. LOUIS - Webster University women's soccer goalkeeper, Maria Arias, has been selected for the roster of the Costa Rica U-20 National Team. The team will be competing in the FIFA 2010 U-20 Women's World Cup, from July 13 through August 1, in host country Germany.

ST. LOUIS - Four St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) women's soccer players have been named to the 2009 NSCAA All-Central Region team. Principia College's Lauren Wienecke and Alicia Girbes-Pierce, and Webster University's Christy Capkovic were all named Second Team, while Webster's Jenna Steiner was named Third Team.

LOUIS - The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Women's Soccer All-Conference Teams and award winners for the 2009 season were announced today (November 7) during the All-Star Trophy Awards Ceremony following the SLIAC Tournament Championship. Principia College's Alicia Girbes-Pierce was named the SLIAC Player of the Year for the second consecutive year. Greenville's College's Mindy Siebert came away with Newcomer of the Year honors.

ST. LOUIS - The Principia College women's soccer team grabbed the No. 1 spot in the 2009 SLIAC Women's Soccer Pre-Season Coaches' Poll. The Panthers, who went undefeated in conference play at 8-0, 19-2 overall and captured both the regular season and conference tournament titles, received five first place votes in the poll.
