Six SLIAC Players Named NSCAA All-Central Region

Six St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer players have been named to the 2014 NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division III All-Central Region team. Congratulations goes out to Kayla Dye, Kelly Hobbs, Brianna Pagan, Paige Pfankuch, Amy Schield, and Dee Dee Sliter.

Amy Schield, a senior defender from Webster University, was named to the All-Central Second Team. Schield led a Gorlok defense that allowed just 16 goals this season while adding two goals and one assist and being named SLIAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year. Teammates Kayla Dye, a freshman forward, and Brianna Pagan, a freshman midfielder, both earned Third Team honors. Dye was named the SLIAC Co-Offensive Player of the Year after recording 10 goals and nine assists this season while Pagan added eight goals and two assists from her midfield position.

Fontbonne placed two players on the All-Central team as Kelly Hobbs, a sophomore midfielder, and Paige Pfankuch, a junior defender, were each named to the Third Team. Hobbs led the Griffins in scoring with 10 goals and seven assists while Pfankuch recorded two goals and was second in the conference in assists with nine while leading a defense that allowed a conference low 13 goals on the season.

Dee Dee Sliter, a sophomore forward from Spalding University, also earned All-Central Region Third Team honors. Sliter was named SLIAC Co-Offensive Player of the Year after leading the SLIAC in scoring with 41 total points with 16 goals and nine assists.
