2016 Women's Soccer Players of the Week

Oct. 31
(Offensive) Chelsea Noser, Webster University
Chelsea Noser is this week's SLIAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. Noser, from Collinsville, Ill., helped the Gorloks pick up three conference wins last week; finishing the season at a perfect 9-0 in conference play. She started the week with a goal and an assist in a win over Spalding. She followed with two goals, including the game-winner, and two assists in a win over Blackburn and closed out her week with an assist in a win over Eureka. She totaled three goals four assists last week, picking up a point in all three games.

(Defensive) Elena Bloma, Webster University
Webster University defender Elena Bloma is the SLIAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. Bloma, a junior, anchored the Gorlok defense during three wins and two shutouts last week. While marking the league's top scorer Bloma did not allow a shot in her team's 6-1 win over Spalding. She followed by guiding the Gorloks to wins over Blackburn and Eureka in which her team allowed just one shot combined. This is the second time this season Bloma has taken home the weekly award.

Oct. 24
(Offensive) Dee Dee Sliter, Spalding University
Dee Dee Sliter is a back to back winner of the SLIAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week award. Sliter, a senior from Louisville, Ky., takes home the award this week after notching three goals in two games last week. Sliter started the week with two goals in a 4-0 win over Greenville including netting her 60th career goal on her second tally of the game. Sliter also scored the game winning goal in her team's 3-0 win over MacMurray, extending Spalding's winning streak to six. Sliter now leads the conference in scoring and ranks in the top 15 in NCAA Division III this year in goals and points per game. This is her third time this season winning the weekly award.

(Defensive) Alnee Tutson, Spalding University
Alnee Tutson, a sophomore from Spalding University, is the SLIAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. Tutson, from Louisville, Ky., helped Spalding extend their winning streak to six games while recording a pair of shutout wins over conference opponents last week. Tutson, who made the move to defense after the Golden Eagles lost their top defender to a season-ending injury, helped the Golden Eagle defense limit their opponents to just four shots on goal in the two games last week. She also chipped in with a goal off a penalty kick in her team's 3-0 win over MacMurray.

Oct. 17
(Offensive) Dee Dee Sliter, Spalding University
For the second time this season Dee Dee Sliter takes home the SLIAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week award. Sliter, a senior from Louisville, Ky., set the tone in her team's win over Eureka last Saturday. She scored a natural hat trick, netting the game's first three goals in just a 15-minute span. Sliter tallied her three goals on just five shots and now has 14 goals and 32 total points this season. Sliter also won the award back in the opening week of the season on Sept. 5.

(Defensive) Amy Greene, Westminster College
Amy Greene is this week's SLIAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. Greene, a senior defender, guided a Blue Jay defense that recorded back to back shutout wins on the week; extending the team winning streak to three games. Greene and the Blue Jays limited Greenville to just four shots, including none on goal, in a 1-0 win. They were even more dominant in a win over Iowa Wesleyan, allowing no shots for the entire game. The Blue Jay defense has now recorded three consecutive shutouts.

Oct. 10
(Offensive) Allison Ferguson, Webster University
Allison Ferguson is this week's SLIAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week after powering the Gorlok offense to a pair of conference wins last week and extending the team's winning streak to three games. Ferguson, a senior from Highland, Ill., netted five goals in her team's two wins and now has a team high seven goals on the season. Ferguson scored two goals, including the game winner, of a 5-0 win over Westminster. She followed by netting a hat trick, including another game-winner, in a win over MacMurray. On the week Ferguson scored her five goals on just nine shots.

(Defensive) Elena Bloma, Webster University
Elena Bloma, a junior from St. Louis, Mo., is the SLIAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. Bloma, a defender, routinely marks the opposition's top player and she played her role perfectly this week in helping the Gorloks pick up two shutout wins. Bloma and the Gorloks limited Westminster to just three shots, two on goal, in their 5-0 win. Bloma then took on the SLIAC's leading scorer from MacMurray, and held her and her team without a shot in the game.

Oct. 3
(Offensive) Meredith Wendt, Fontbonne University
Meredith Wendt is this week's SLIAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. Wendt, a junior from Troy, Ill., helped the Griffins extend their winning streak to four games including picking up a 5-0 conference win over MacMurray. Wendt tallied three goals in her team's two games last week. She started the week with two goals in a 3-1 win over Oakland City, scoring the first and third goals of the game. She also found the back of the net in a 5-0 win over MacMurray. On the week Wendt finished with three goals on seven shots.

(Defensive) Kelsey Kaiser, Spalding University
Kelsey Kaiser, a goalkeeper from Spalding University, is this week's SLAIC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. Kaiser, a senior from Louisville, Ky., recorded her second shutout of the season in a 1-0 double overtime win over Westminster. Kaiser stopped seven shots in the game including two stops on break-aways; playing a total of 102:38 in net.

Sept. 26
(Offensive) Lyndi Saccaro, MacMurray College
Lyndi Saccaro is the SLIAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the second straight week. Saccaro, a junior from Rochester, Ill., tallied a point in all three games for the Highlanders last week; helping them to three wins. Saccaro started the week with a hat trick in a 5-0 win over Lincoln Christian. She followed with an assist in her team's 5-0 win over Eureka and then closed out the week with two goals and an assist in a 5-0 win over Finlandia. On the week Saccaro finished with five goals and two assists for 12 total points with 16 shots on goal.

(Defensive) Tayler Pulvirenti, Fontbonne University
For the second week in a row Tayler Pulvirenti claims the SLIAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week award. Pulvirenti, a senior goalkeeper, recorded a pair of shutouts last week including helping the Griffins win their 2016 conference opener. Against Evangel Pulvirenti stopped all four shots she faced in a 2-0 win. She started conference play by blanking Spalding 1-0, stopping seven shots including six in the second-half. For the week Pulvirenti played 180 minutes in net and totaled 11 saves with two wins and two shutouts.

Sept. 19
(Offensive) Lyndi Saccaro, MacMurray College
Lyndi Saccaro, from MacMurray College, is this week's SLIAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. Saccaro, a junior from Rochester, Ill., helped the Highlanders pick up their second win on the season by scoring four goals in her team's 5-4 overtime win over Mount Mary. Saccaro tallied a natural hat trick, scoring the game's first three goals in the first 18-minutes of action. The Highlanders need the foot of Saccaro again late, as she scored the game tying goal in the 77th minute to force overtime where the Highlanders eventually grabbed the win. Saccaro scored her four goals on five shots.

(Defensive) Tayler Pulvirenti, Fontbonne University
Fontbonne's Tayler Pulvirenti is the SLIAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. Pulvirenti, a senior from Collinsville, Ill., was stellar last week for the Griffins as she made 10 combined saves in two contests. Pulvirenti made two stops in her team's 6-0 win over Stephens, playing 81-minutes in net before giving way. She then kept the Griffins in the game against undefeated Knox, making eight saves before suffering a 1-0 loss. On the week Pulvirenti finished with a .909 save percentage.

Sept. 12
(Offensive) Dani Pearce, Greenville College
Dani Pearce, a sophomore from Greenville College, picks up SLIAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors this week after helping the Panthers to a pair of wins. Pearce had a role in all three of her team's goals in their 3-0 win over Ozarks (Ark.). Pearce set up the game's first goal and then extended the lead with two goals in a five minute span. Against Rockford, Pearce again got the scoring started by setting up teammate Whitney Warner for the first goal of the game. On the week Pearce netted three goals and three assists in three games played.

(Defensive) Demi West, Spalding University
Demi West picks up SLIAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honors for the second consecutive week. West, a senior from Sheffield, England, helped the Golden Eagles blank their only opponent last week, Berea. In that game West also added a goal and an assist while anchoring a defense that limited Berea to just four shots.

Sept. 5
(Offensive) Dee Dee Sliter, Spalding University
Dee Dee Sliter, a senior forward, helped the Golden Eagles get off to a 3-0 start on the season. Sliter, from Louisville, Ky., tallied five goals in the three games including a game winner against Heidelberg; the game's only goal. Sliter started the week with two goals against Earlham and closed it out with two goals and two assists against Defiance.

(Defensive) Demi West, Spalding University
Demi West, a senior from Sheffield, England, guided the Spalding defense to three wins last week, holding opponents to just two goals on the week. West and the Spalding defense limited their opponents to just seven shots on goal over the three games including notching a pair of shutouts.
