Four From SLIAC Named NSCAA All-Region

Four players from St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schools were named to the 2016 NSCAA NCAA Division III All-Central Region Team. Players from Fontbonne University, Spalding University, and Webster University were all represented on All-Region team.

Fontbonne's Natalie Sipole was named Third Team. Sipole, a senior midfielder, tallied one goal this season while adding a conference high 11 assists. Sipole helepd lead the Griffins to a 12-7-2 overall record this fall, making the program's first apperance in the SLIAC Championship game since 1996.

Dee Dee Sliter, a senior from Spalding, was named Second Team as a forward. Sliter is making her third consecutive appearance on the All-Region team, earning Third Team honors in 2014 and 2015. Sliter finished with 21 goals and five assists for 47 total points this season, adding six game-winning goals. She helped Spalding finish 11-5-2 overall this season, appearing in their second straight SLIAC Tournament.

Webster placed two players on the All-Region team, with Elena Bloma and Brianna Pagan earning Third Team honors. Bloma, a junior defender, was the anchor of a Gorlok defense that recorded seven shutouts. Bloma added one goal and three assists from her back line spot and was named the 2016 SLIAC Defensive Player of the Year. Pagan, a junior midfielder, is making her third consecutive appearance on the All-Region team. This past fall Pagan finished with five goals and seven assists while adding two game-winning goals. Webster was 13-8 overall this season and captured the SLIAC Tournament title.
