Pair of Women's Soccer Players Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

Brianna Pagan and Meredith Wendt have been named to the 2017 CoSIDA Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team. The Academic All-District Team is presented by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) with support from the NCAA governing structures. The award program is divided into geographic districts and is voted on by members of CoSIDA. To be nominated a player must hold at least a 3.30 grade-point average and play a key role on their team.

Pagan, a senior midfielder at Webster University, holds a GPA of 3.89 while majoring in Mathematics and Computer Science. Pagan recorded five goals and six assists this past fall while earning SLIAC First Team All-Conference honors. She also helped the Gorloks to their second consecutive NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament.

Wendt, a senior forward for Fontbonne University, maintains a 3.94 GPA while majoring in Psychology. Wendt becomes the first Griffin in program history to receive First Team Academic All-District honors. This past fall she helped Fontbonne to the SLIAC Tournament Championship game while recording a career-high 16 goals and being named SLIAC First Team All-Conference.

Both players are now eligible for the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot, which will be announced in December. To view, the complete list of the 2017 CoSIDA Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team click HERE
