2018 Women's Tennis Players of the Week

 

SLIAC WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK - APRIL 24

Monica Behrle, Webster University

Behrle ends her season in the same way as starting it, by being named the SLIAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week. Behrle went undefeated on the week, recording a pair of conference wins against Principia. She blanked her #1 singles opponent 6-0, 6-0 and then followed with an 8-1 win at #1 doubles along with teammate Madison Watts. The award is Behrle's fourth this season. 

 

SLIAC WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK - APRIL 16

Clara Baldwin, Westminster College

Baldwin picked up a pair of conference wins during her three-win week. Playing at #1 singles she defeated Fontbonne 6-1, 6-2 and then teamed with Natalie Tiffany for an 8-2 win at #1 doubles. Baldwin then followed with another singles win, this time against Stephens, winning 6-1, 6-0. 

SLIAC WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK - APRIL 9

Hallie Jones, Principia College

Jones, a junior from Elsah, Ill., captured a perfect week on the courts while playing in four matches. Jones was 2-0 in both singles and doubles action. Playing at #2 singles she topped Fontbonne 7-6, 6-4 for a conference win. Jones trailed 3-1 in her second set before winning five of the next six games to close out the win. She followed with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Blackburn at the top singles position. Jones also teamed with Olivia Kasprzyk for a pair of doubles win. 

SLIAC WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK - APRIL 2
Monica Behrle, Webster University

Monica Behrle picks up her third SLIAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week award after winning both matches last week for the Gorloks. Behrle, a senior from Atlanta, Ga., topped Westminster 6-3, 6-1 at the #1 singles position and then teamed with Madison Watts to win 8-2 in #1 doubles. Behrle has now won three straight in singles play and improves to 12-3 on the season. 

SLIAC WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK - MARCH 26
Madison Watts, Webster University

Watts, a junior from Rogersville, Mo., was dominant last week in picking up SLIAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week honors. Watts dropped just one game in her three outings. Watts blanked her opponent from Fontbonne 6-0, 6-0 at #2 singles for her first conference win of the season. She teamed up with Monica Behrle to win 8-1 at #1 doubles and improve to 9-2 in doubles action this season.

SLIAC WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK - MARCH 19
Monica Behrle, Webster University

Behrle, a senior from Atlanta, Ga., rolled off a 7-1 combined record last week. As the team's top player she secured three wins in singles and four more in doubles with her partner Madison Watts. Behrle picked up a doubles win against Wooster and had two wins each against Marietta, Stockton, and Nazareth. She is now 10-3 in singles play this season and 8-3 in doubles. 

SLIAC WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK - MARCH 5
Monica Behrle, Webster University

Behrle, a senior, started off her final collegiate season by tying the program record for career singles wins. Behrle tacked on two singles wins last week, moving her career total to 58. She picked up a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of Shawnee State and then followed with a win over Bethel while playing in the team's top spot. Behrle also recorded two doubles wins, playing with Madison Watts, winning 8-2 and 8-5.
