Principia and Webster Earn ITA All-Academic Team Honors

St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference members Principia College and Webster University both earned 2018-19 ITA Women's Tennis All-Academic team honors and a total of 12 combined players named Scholar-Athletes. Principia and Webster were the only schools in the conference to earn the team award and have players honored.

Principia College was represented individually by Paige Cooley, Brittany Duke, Hallie Jones, Gabrielle Kitchingman, Paige Lesko, and Sarah Switzer. 

Webster University was represented by Maggie Federhofer, Emma Ferguson, Liz Gerger, Sara Rice, Addie Struckman, and Madison Watts.

A total of 940 men's and women's programs were recognized by the ITA with Principia and Webster being two of 124 schools from NCAA Division III. 

To qualify for the award, teams must have a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). Grades for all varsity athletes are taken from both the Fall 2018 semester and the Spring 2019 semester. In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: be a varsity letter winner, have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters.
