Three Named Track and Field CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-District

Three student-athletes from the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference were named to the 2019 CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-District teams in Track and Field. Kelsey Phillips, from Spalding University, and Dimitrije Mitic and Anna Grobelny, from Webster University, earned the academic honor. 
 
Phillips, from Shepherdsville, Ky., earned District 2 honors and holds a 3.97 grade-point average while majoring in Natural Science. The junior is coming off a spring season which saw her take three gold medals at the SLIAC Championships, winning the 5,000-meter race, 10,000-meter race, and 3,000 steeplechase.
 
Gorlok seniors Dimitrije Mitic and Anna Grobelny were both named to the District  5 Teams. Mitic carries a 3.77 grade-point average in Finance. He recently captured the javelin title at the SLIAC Championships and is the school record holder in the javelin and indoor shot put. Grobelny holds a 4.00-grade point average in Biological Sciences with an emphasis in Research and Technology. She holds the school's second-best mark in the triple jump.
 
The Academic All-District Team presented by Google Cloud recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances both athletically and in the classroom. To be nominated by their respective school's SID, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore and a starter or key contributor with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution. Voting for the Academic All-District team is conducted by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
