2020 Women's Track and Field Players of the Week

February 24, 2020 - Field Athlete
 

Cayden Sharp, Greenville University

Sharp, a sophomore, was named the Field Athlete of the Meet at the NCCAA Indoor Championships. She picked up 1st place in both the Pentathlon and Triple Jump and 2nd place in the Long Jump. Sharp tied the school pentathlon record in the high jump and broke the mark int he 60-meter hurdles. Her triple jump distance of 35'5" was over a foot better than her previous career-best distance.

February 24, 2020 - Track Athlete

 

Minnell Fundora, Webster University

Fundora set a new personal best and school record in the mile at last weekend's Missouri Collegiate Challenge. She finished with a time of 5:21.39, finishing 7th overall. She also ran the second leg of the 4x400 relay, which the Gorloks finished in 2nd place with a time of 4:17.

 
February 17, 2020 - Field Athlete
 

Cayden Sharp, Greenville University

Sharp, a sophomore, was busy establishing numerous personal-best marks at the Fighting Scots Invite while picking up three top-four finishes. Sharp took 3rd place in the triple jump, an event she had never attempted prior, with a jump of 34'3.5". She also took 4th place in both the long jump, with a distance of 17'3", and the 60-meter hurdles, with a time of 9.54 seconds. She recorded personal bests in all three events.

February 17, 2020 - Track Athlete
 

Kori Nesbit, Greenville University

Nesbit, a senior from Granite City, Illinois, took a 6th place finish in the 3000-meter race to claim this week's weekly award. Her time of 11:40.80 is the 3rd best time in the SLIAC this season and bettered her previous personal best time by 7-seconds.

Sierra Moore, Fontbonne University

Moore, a junior from Liberty, Mo., takes home weekly honors after a top ten finish in the shot put at the Jim Green Invite. Moore placed 9th in the shot put with a distance of 34'.

Sierra Howardson, Iowa Wesleyan University

Howardson, a sophomore, is the weekly award winner after breaking an Iowa Wesleyan record in the 2000 meter dry steeplechase. Howardson, from Danville, Iowa, finished in a time of 7:51, placing 2nd at the Luther College Invite.

Miranda Green, Webster University

Green picks up her second straight weekly award after notching another 1st place finish. Last weekend Green, a senior from Joplin, Missouri, placed 1st in the shot put at the Engineer Invitational. Her distance of 39'3.6" was a school record and good enough to put her atop the SLIAC leaderboard. She also placed 7th in the weight throw with a mark of 41'2.8". 

February 3, 2020 - Track Athlete
 

Danielle Schultz, Webster University

Schultz, a freshman from Swansea, Illinois, took home a second-place finish at the Engineer Invitational over the weekend. Schultz competed in the 800-meter race, finishing in a time of 2:29 which places her atop the early conference leaderboard. The time was also the third-fastest time in program history.

Miranda Green, Webster University

Green, a senior, had a pair of personal best showings at the Don DeNoon Invite last weekend. Green had a personal best throws of 37'5" in the shot put and 37'2" in the weight throw.

Cayden Sharp, Greenville University

Sharp, a sophomore, competed in four events last week with three top-three finishes. She took 2nd in both the 55-meter hurdles and long jump and added a 3rd place showing in the 55-meter dash. Sharp had a lifetime best distance of 17' in the long jump and added two more lifetime bests with times of 7.48 seconds in the dash and 9.04 seconds in the hurdles.
