Panthers Win Twilight Meet

The women's track and field team produced 205 points in their victory over eight other teams at Rose-Hulman on Friday evening. The Panthers secured the winning performance in eight of the meet's 21 contested events.

Talahiva Talanoa gave Greenville wins in two events, collecting a winning attempt of 11.82 meters in the shot put and a distance of 44.59 meters in the hammer throw.

Cayden Sharp and Sara Yakana each helped Greenville win two events. Sharp captured the 400-meter hurdles title with a time of 1:07.07, and Yakana clocked a time of 26.66 seconds to carry the 200-meter dash win. Together, Sharp and Yakana joined Jocelyn Fritz and Laila Graham for the winning time of 48.31 seconds in the 4x100 meter relay.

Emma Brown provided a win in the javelin throw with a top effort of 37.53 meters.

Eyonna Owens came out on top in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.74, and Anna Beth Vanilla cleared a winning height of 1.55 meters in the high jump, taking the win over Graham in a jump-off.
