SLIAC Announces 2010 Volleyball All-Conference Teams and Award Winners

St. Louis, Mo. – The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has announced the 2010 Volleyball All-Conference Teams and award winners.

Greenville College's Jessica Dothager claimed Player of the Year honors for the second consecutive year, while teammate Corinne Coon was named the Newcomer of the Year. Webster University's Sarah Bailey was selected as the Defensive Player of the Year. Dothager, a senior middle blocker, ranked second in the SLIAC this season with a .384 attack percentage, fourth in kills (3.05) and fourth in blocks (1.02). Coon, a freshman outside hitter, recorded 128 kills and a .274 attack percentage in conference play, and also had 15 service aces. Bailey, a senior defensive specialist, finished the season ranked second in the conference with an average of 5.50 digs per set. Bailey also ranked third with an average of 0.52 service aces per set in conference matches.

Greenville College head coach Tom Ackerman was selected as Coach of the Year, marking the third time he has received the honor. Ackerman led his squad to a 15-1 conference record and a share of the regular season Conference Championship, the first in program history.

Principia College and Westminster College (Mo.) were both awarded with the Sportsmanship Award.
