Fontbonne Hires Meredith Heater to Lead Women's Volleyball Squad

ST. LOUIS - The Fontbonne University athletic department is pleased to announce it has hired Meredith Heater as its new head women's volleyball coach.

"Fontbonne University is pleased to welcome Coach Meredith Heater to the Fontbonne family," Fontbonne Director of Athletics Maria Eftink said. "Coach Heater's experience and enthusiasm leave us excited for the future of Fontbonne volleyball. She is a former Division III student-athlete and a proven recruiter. We are confident in her abilities to help the women's volleyball program regain the success it has enjoyed in past years."

Heater comes to Fontbonne from Lewis & Clark Community College in Godfrey, Illinois, where she served as the head women's volleyball and head women's tennis coach since December 2009. Prior to Lewis and Clark, Heater served as the head volleyball coach at Southwestern Illinois College.

In addition to her NJCAA experience, Heater comes to Fontbonne with valuable NCAA Division III experience. She served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Greenville College from 2006-2007, and she also played her collegiate volleyball at Greenville.

"I'm excited about this new challenge and thrilled to have the opportunity to get back into NCAA Division III athletics, " Heater said. "Fontbonne's volleyball program has a tremendous history, and I look forward to becoming a part of the Griffin family."
