Howard, Lueking, and Rountree Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

A trio of St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference volleyball players were named to the 2014 CoSIDA Academic All-District teams. Jenny Howard, of Webster University; Ellen Lueking, of Greenville College; and Tess Rountree, of Principia College, were honored by the organization for the success in the classroom.

Jenny Howard, a senior from Florissant, Mo., was selected to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-District District 5 women's volleyball team and will now be considered for Academic All-American. Howard holds a 3.76 cumulative grade point average while majoring in Biology. Howard was the St. Louis Intercollegiate Player of the Year in 2012, the SLIAC Newcomer of the Year in 2011 and was named to the SLIAC First Team All-Conference Teams in 2011 and 2012.  She was Honorable Mention in 2013.

Ellen Lueking and Tess Rountree were each named to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-District 7 Second Team. Lueking, a senior from Hoffman, Ill., holds a 3.99 grade point average while majoring in Physical Education. Lueking has been a key member of four straight SLIAC regular season champion teams. In 2012 she was named First Team All-Conference and in 2013 she earned Second Team All-Conference honors.

Tess Rountree, a senior from Paso Robles, Calif., holds a 3.71 grade point average while majoring in Mathematics. Rountree recently concluded a record setting career, finishing as the school's career leader in both digs and solo blocks as well as second in kills. She currently ranks tops in Division III in kills this season and has been named SLIAC First Team All-Conference three times including the 2013 SLIAC Player of the Year.

The 2014 Capital One Academic All-District Volleyball Teams are selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Capital One has been the entitlement rights holder to CoSIDA's Academic All-America teams programs since 2011. The Academic All-District teams include student-athletes from eight geographic regions across the United States and Canada and includes NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA institutions.
