2015 Volleyball All-Conference Team

Westminster College's Hannah Marshall grabbed the 2015 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year award after helping her team to their best record in 14 years. Also taking home top honors were a pair of players from Greenville College; Jamie Schollenbruch, the Defensive Player of the Year, and Riley Hannula, the Newcomer of the Year.

Marshall, a sophomore from Wildwood, Mo., led Westminster to a 21-11 overall record and a 16-2 record in the SLIAC during the regular season. Marshall broke several program records on the way to helping the Blue Jays record their most wins in a season since 2001. Marshall finished with 401 kills this season, a school record, averaging 3.37 kills per set, second most in the SLIAC. She also led the conference in service aces with 77, also a Blue Jay season record, and finished with the second most points in the conference with 491, averaging 4.1 per set. Marshall is the first Westminster player since 1999, Jennifer Whitaker, to win the conference's top award and marks the sixth time in program history.

Schollenbruch, a senior from Decatur, Ill., takes home the SLIAC Defensive Player of the Year award for the second year in a row. She becomes the first player in the history of the award to win multiple times. Schollenbruch was a constant on the defensive sid of the ball for the Panthers, averaging 5.27 digs per set and totaling 527 digs during the regular season.

Hannula, a freshman from Kaneville, Ill., is the 2015 SLIAC Newcomer of the Year. Hannula played in all 29 matches this season as a true freshman, recording 209 kills while hitting .341, fourth best in the SLIAC. Hannula also finished fourth in the conference in total blocks with 82. She averaged 2.09 kills and 2.8 points per set. Hannula is the sixth Panther, and second consecutive, to take home the conference Newcomer of the Year award.

The 2015 SLIAC Coach of the Year is Greenville College head coach Tom Ackerman. Ackerman led the Panthers to a 22-7 overall record and first-place in the SLIAC with a 17-1 record. This is the sixth consecutive year the Panthers have captured at least a share of the SLIAC regular season title, a conference record. This is the fifth time in his coaching career Ackerman has been named the SLIAC Coach of the Year. He also won in 2002, 208, 2010, and 2013.

Principia College received the SLIAC Team Sportsmanship Award for a conference record fourth time since the award's inception in 2005. Principia also took home the honor in 2010, 2012, and 2013. The team Sportsmanship Award is given to the team whose players, coaches and fans best exhibit the principles of good sportsmanship. The SLIAC also recognizes one individual from each team, selected by his coach and teammates, who throughout the season best displays the ideals of sportsmanship. The 2015 All-Sportsmanship Team includes Alexis Dick (Blackburn), Heather Robinson (Eureka), Sarah Vreibel (Fontbonne), Hannah Baker (Greenville), Alyssa Morales (Iowa Wesleyan), Maddie Langellier (MacMurray), Molly Moser (Principia), Victoria Heitzman (Spalding), Dani Roosman (Webster), and Caroline Will (Westminster).
