2017 Volleyball Players of the Week

October 30
(Offensive) Ashley Kistaitis, Westminster College
Kistaitis, a sophomore, picks up her first career SLIAC Player of the Week award after helping the Blue Jays notch three wins last week. Kistaitis hit .271 in the three matches, totaling 37 kills. She had a high of 17 kills against Iowa Wesleyan, adding 15 digs. On the week she averaged 4.1 kills per set and finished with 41 total points.

(Defensive) Devon Marunde, Principia College
For the second straight week, Devon Marunde is the SLIAC Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week. Marunde, a sophomore from McHenry, Ill., totaled 64 digs in three matches last week; averaging 5.82 per set. Her best performance was a 29 dig outing against Spalding in which she added three block assists.

October 23
 (Offensive) Anna Finch, Greenville University
Finch, a freshman, led Greenville to a pair of conference wins last week. Finch totaled 24 kills in the two matches, averaging 2.47 per set while hitting .468 with just two attack errors. Finch also added one service ace and finished with 28 total points in just nine sets.

(Defensive) Devon Marunde, Principia College
Marunde, a sophomore from McHenry, Ill., led the Panthers to a pair of wins last week, averaging 4.64 digs per set. She had a high of 24 digs in a five-set battle against Greenville, adding one block assist. Marunde then picked up 14 digs against Iowa Wesleyan and 13 against Harris-Stowe. 

October 16
 (Offensive) Sophia Hathaway, Principia College
Hathaway, a junior from South Pasadena, Calif., paced the Panthers attack last week, recording three double-doubles. She had a high of 25 kills in a four set match against Fontbonne, adding 22 digs. On the week Hathaway averaged 4.25 kills per set, finishing with 51 kills in three matches. She totaled 54.5 points while hitting .250 and adding 5.42 digs per set.

(Defensive) Mia Gill, Principia College
Gill, a junior from Elgin, Ill., grabs her third weekly award this year after helping the Panthers to a pair of conference wins and securing a spot in the SLIAC Tournament. Gill averaged 7.8 digs per set over three matches last week including a high of 40 digs in a five-set thriller against Webster. 

October 9
 (Offensive) Allyson Mitchell, Greenville University
Mitchell, a senior from Gurnee, Ill., led the Panthers to a 3-0 win over Spalding. Mitchell recorded 11 kills in the match, with just three attack errors. She added two service aces and six digs while also tallying three block assists. She finished the match with 14.5 total points.

(Defensive) Brittni Bell, Greenville University
Bell, a senior from Delavan, Ill., provided the Panthers with a strong defensive game at the net in their only match last week, a 3-0 win over Spalding. Bell recorded five blocks in the match, one solo block and four assists. She also added eight kills in the match and totaled 11 points.

October 2
 (Offensive) Olivia Wall, MacMurray College
Wall, a sophomore from St. Louis, Mo., was the go-to player for the Highlanders as they went 3-1 on the week. Wall had two matches with over 20 kills and averaged 5.5 kills per set. She had a high of 27 kills in a win over Knox and followed with 14 kills against Robert Morris-Springfield while hitting .591 in the match. On the week Wall also averaged 3.8 digs per set while finishing with a .236 hitting percentage.

(Defensive) Alexis Moore, MacMurray College
Moore, a sophomore from Winchester, Ill., was key in her team's 3-1 record last week. Moore tallied 96 digs over four matches, averaging 6.4 digs per set. She had a high of 33 digs in a win over Knox and followed with three more double-digit dig performances including a pair of matches against conference foes with at least 20 digs.

September 25
 (Offensive) Anna Crank, Eureka College
Crank, a senior outside hitter from Washburn, Ill., claims the weekly award after averaging 4.14 kills per set in two matches last week. Crank tallied 12 kills in a sweep of Iowa Wesleyan and followed with 17 kills against Lincoln Christian. On the week Crank hit .278 while also picking up 2.43 digs and 0.79 blocks per set. Crank averaged 5.1 points per set, totaling 36 points on the week.

(Defensive) Maria Soffner, Webster University
Soffner, a senior from Creve Coeur, Mo., was active in the Gorloks two wins last week; averaging 8.43 digs per set. Soffner recorded 37 digs against Illinois College, ranking in the Top 10 in program history for digs in a match. She followed with 22 more digs against Fontbonne, giving her 59 digs on the week and helping extend her team's winning streak to nine.

September 18
 (Offensive) Allyson Mitchell, Greenville University
Mitchell, a senior outside hitter, paced the Panthers over three matches last week. She averaged 4.64 kills per set, finishing with at least 16 kills in all three matches. She had a high of 19 kills against Webster. In addition, Mitchell added 34 digs last week and averaged 5.0 points per set. 

(Defensive) Mia Gill, Principia College
Gill, a junior from Elgin, Ill., was active in all six of Principia's matches last week; averaging 8.25 digs per set. Gill tallied at least 16 digs in all six matches including an impressive 50 digs in her team's five-set win over Olivet, setting a new school record. 

September 11
 (Offensive) Emily Tippetts, Principia College
Tippetts, a junior middle blocker from Austin, Texas, averaged an impressive 4.7 kills and 5.1 points per set over three conference matches last week. Her high of 19 kills came in a win over Blackburn and she reached double digits in kills in all three matches while hitting .264 on the week.

(Defensive) Claudia Spivey, Spalding University
Spivey, a freshman from Memphis, Tenn., made her presence known at the net for the Golden Eagles. She sparked the Spalding defense last week, leading them to their first two wins of the season. Spivey recorded seven total blocks in a win over MacMurray and followed with five blocks in a win over Fontbonne. On the week she totaled 13 blocks, averaging 1.18 blocks per set.

September 5
(Offensive) Sophia Hathaway, Principia College
Hathaway, a junior outside hitter from South Pasadena, Calif., led the Panthers attack in picking up two wins on opening weekend. Despite getting over 100 swings, Hathaway committed just seven errors while finishing with 39 kills. She averaged 4.3 kills per set, hitting .317 on the week. She had a high of 22 kills against Monmouth, adding three service aces. In addition, Hathaway averaged 3.9 digs per set. 

(Defensive) Mia Gill, Principia College
Gill, a junior from Elgin, Ill., helped the Panthers rally from deficits and pick up a pair of wins on the opening weekend. Gill averaged 5.4 digs per set on the week, finishing with a total of 49 over two matches. She tallied a high of 29 digs in a 3-1 win over Lincoln Christian and followed with 20 digs in a five set win over Monmouth (Ill.)
