LeGrand Named Griffins Head Coach

Fontbonne University Director of Athletics, Maria Buckel, announced Ryan LeGrand as the next Head Women's Volleyball Coach.

"I'm excited to bring Coach Ryan LeGrand on full-time to lead our women's volleyball program," Buckel said. "Ryan has shown his commitment and passion for Fontbonne Volleyball on the men's side and been a large part of building that program. Now Ryan will be able to make his mark on the women's program and I'm excited to see where the program goes under Ryan's direction."

"I was very happy and honored to be named the next head coach of the women's volleyball program at Fontbonne," said LeGrand. "There is a great group of returning players and recruits coming in this year and I can't wait to get in the practice gym, meet the team, and get the season started."

LeGrand, who just finished up his sixth season as an assistant men's volleyball coach at Fontbonne, is also the director of player development and head recruiter for the Griffins. The team is coming off a program-record 19-win season, while leading Division III overall in digs per set.

Prior to his time with the Griffins, LeGrand spent seven years a club volleyball coach in St. Charles, Mo. He's a two-time Missouri State Champion at Parkway North High School and a former player at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo. In addition, he works as a coach for the St. Louis High Performance Volleyball Club.
