Annual Webster Dig Pink Match On Wednesday

Annual Webster Dig Pink Match On Wednesday

The Webster University volleyball team will host its 10th annual Dig Pink® match on Wednesday, Oct. 3 when the Gorloks welcome its Big Bend Avenue rivals Fontbonne University for a 7 p.m. St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match inside Grant Gymnasium on the Webster University campus.

This will mark the 10th consecutive year that Webster will hold a Dig Pink® match in support of the Sideout Foundation (Sideout Foundation website), which raises money and awareness of breast cancer. Dig Pink® is a nationwide movement to provide meaningful and impactful experiences for athletes while inspiring and empowering them to come together in support of the stage IV breast cancer community.

In its first 10 years, Side-Out's Dig Pink Movement and its nearly 100,000 student-athlete participants have raised nearly 14 million dollars for research. Dig Pink is a movement that reaches all 50 states, Canada and overseas. With this tremendous support, Side-Out and the sport of volleyball are providing more quality time for those living with stage IV breast cancer through our game-changing clinical trials.

During Webster's Dig Pink match with Fontbonne, there will be 50/50 raffles, games and a silent auction for the fans to participate in and the fans are encouraged to wear pink to the match.

Webster is currently sitting in a tie for sixth place in the SLIAC standings with a 1-2 record, while Fontbonne is currently fifth in the league standings with a 2-3 record. Overall, Webster has a 3-6 record this year heading into its home match on Tuesday at 6 p.m. against Eureka, while Fontbonne is 2-5 overall on the year.
