2015 Women's Cross Country Runners of the Week

October 19
Molly Works, Greenville College
Works, a senior from Lenzburg, Ill., is the SLIAC Women's Cross Country Player of the Week for the second consecutive week after helping her team to a third place finish at the Illinois College Invitational. Works finished 28th in a mixed division race that featured 165 total runners. She completed the 6K course in a time of 23:49, her season best time by 39-seconds. Of the runners that finished ahead of her 16 were Division I runners and another two were Division II competitors.

October 12
Molly Works, Greenville College
Works, a senior from Lenzburg, Ill., is the SLIAC Women's Cross Country Player of the Week after a 44th place finish this past weekend. Works finished the 5K course in just 20:07, competing in a field of 187 runners. Works cut 1:14 off her time on the same course from three weeks ago, helping her team to a 7th place finish in a field of 22 teams.

October 5
Valerie Martin, Webster University
Martin, a junior from Webster Groves, Mo., picks up her second straight SLIAC Women's Cross Country Player of the Week award this week competing in the Greater Louisville Classic. Martin set a new career best time of 19:30, finishing 20th out of 365 runners. Martin's time was the second best in Webster history for a 5K race.

September 28
Valerie Martin, Webster University
Martin, a junior from Webster Groves, Mo., is the SLIAC Women's Cross Country Player of the Week after claiming the best finish of any conference runner at the Brissman-Lundeen Invite last weekend. Martin finished the 6K course in 23:39, placing 46th overall. She maintained a mile pace of 6:21 during the race and finished with the best time in program history by a Gorlok at the long running event.

September 21
Olivia Beggs, Fontbonne University
Beggs, a junior from Frankfort, Ill., is this week's SLIAC Women's Cross Country Player of the Week. Beggs competed in the 5k National Catholic Invitational hosted by the University of Notre Dame. In a field of nearly 300 runners, including runners from all divisions, Beggs was the top SLIAC finisher, completing the course with a time of 20:30. Her time was a personal best and the fourth best in program history.

September 14
Brooke Goodyear, Greenville College
Goodyear, a sophomore from Morton, Ill., captured a top ten finish in the Midwest Classic XC Invite in Bourbonais, Ill. last weekend. Goodyear finished the 5k race with a time of 20:02, with a 4:00 mile pace. Goodyear over came a soggy course to grab a top ten spot out of a field of 98 runners.

September 7
Brier Skogsberg, Westminster College
Brier Skogsberg, a senior from Kirksville, Mo., captured a first place finish in the Panther Open hosted by Principia College. Skogsberg completed the 4K course with a time of 16:15, edging out 32 other runners. Her mile pace of 6:32 helped her finish nearly six seconds faster than the closest competitor.
