2016 Women's Cross Country Players of the Week

Oct. 17
Holly Goergen, Webster University
Holly Goergen, a junior from Phoenix, Ariz., is this week's SLIAC Women's Cross Country Player of the Week. Goergen finished in 12th place at the University of Evansville Invite. She completed the course in a time of 19:50, setting a new personal best time by 38-seconds while also setting a new program record on the 5K course. Goergen averaged a 6:23 mile pace during the race and finished just 1:27 behind the race winner.

Oct. 10
Jessie Kuykendall, Westminster College
Jessie Kuykendall, a sophomore from Warsaw, Mo., picks up her fourth SLIAC Women's Cross Country Player of the Week award this season after taking home the honor once more this week. Kuykendall set a new personal best time of 22:50 on the 6K Cowbell Classic course. She averaged a 6:07 mile during the race and finished second overall in a field of 140 runners.

Oct. 3
Lia Kruse, Greenville College
Lia Kruse grabs the SLIAC Women's Cross Country Player of the Week award after a first place finish in the Millikin meet. Kruse, a junior from Batavia, Ill., completed her 6K race in a time of 23:02. Her time was nearly a full minute faster than her previous personal best. In addition to taking first place at the meet Kruse helped the Panthers take first place as a team. The win was also her first collegiate win.

Sept. 26
Jessie Kuykendall, Westminster College
For the second straight week and the third time this season Westminster's Jessie Kuykendall grabs SLIAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week honors. Competing in the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational Kuykendall finished 2nd overall in a field of 225 runners. She completed the 6K course in a time of 23:03 and helped the Blue Jays to a 10th place team finish, out of 30 teams.

Sept. 19
Jessie Kuykendall, Westminster College
Jessie Kuykendall is this week's SLIAC Women's Cross Country Player of the Week. Kuykendall, a sophomore at Westminster College, placed third overall at the Missouri Southern Stampede Invitational. She finished the 5K race with a time of 18:45, setting both a personal record and a new Blue Jay program mark. Kuykendall competed in a field of 149 runners and helped the Blue Jays to a 10th place finish as a team in a field of 17 teams. This marks the second time this season she has earned SLIAC Player of the Week honors.

Sept. 12
Brooke Goodyear, Greenville College
Brooke Goodyear, a junior from Greenville College, is the SLIAC Player of the Week this week after helping the Panthers to a second place team finish at the Olivet Nazarene Midwest Classic. Goodyear finished the 5K course with a time of 20:36, averaging a 6:38 mile pace. Goodyear battled through a wet course in a race that featured just two runners breaking the 20 minute barrier.

Sept. 5
Jessie Kuykendall, Westminster College
Jessie Kuykendall takes home SLIAC Women's Cross Country Player of the Week honors after helping her team to a first place finish in the PC Open. Kuykendall, a sophomore from Warsaw, Mo., placed second individually; completing the 4K course in a time of 15:02.  Kuykendall battled a field of other SLIAC runners, comfortably finishing the race by nearly two minutes faster than any other conference runner.
