2017 Women's Cross Country Players of the Week

October 16
Meghan Illig, Webster University
Illig, a senior from St. Louis, Mo., paced the Gorloks at the Cowbell Classic this past weekend. Illig finished the 6k course in a time of 25:06, setting a new personal best time this year. This marks the second time this season that Illig has been named the conference Player of the Week.

October 9
Jessie Kuykendall, Westminster College
With her fourth top-three finish this fall, Jessie Kuykendall picks up her fourth SLIAC Women's Cross Country Player of the Week award as well. Kuykendall finished 3rd last weekend at the Gary Stoner Invite hosted by Central Methodist. She completed the 5k course in a time of 19:12 and was the highest finisher for a NCAA Division III runner.

October 2
Meghan Illig, Webster University
Illig, a senior from St. Louis, Mo., improved upon her personal best time at the Greater Louisville Classic. Illig completed the 5K race in a time of 20:07, cutting off over one-minute from her previous best time at the course. Illig finished 32nd out of 265 runners.

September 25
Jessie Kuykendall, Westminster College
Kuykendall, a junior from Warsaw, Mo., claims her third Player of the Week award this season. Kuykendall took 2nd place at the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational, finishing the 5k course in a time of 19:11. 

September 18
Katie Gosser, Fontbonne University
Gosser, a sophomore from St. Louis, Mo., had a strong showing at the National Catholic Invitational. Gosser finished the 5K race in a time of 19:57, finishing 21st among non-Division I runners. That mark is the third fastest in program history and a personal best by over 5-minutes. 

September 11
Jessie Kuykendall, Westminster College
For the second consecutive week, Jessie Kuykendall takes home the women's cross country weekly award. Kuykendall, from Warsaw, Mo., took 2nd place at the CMU Eagle Invite. Kuykendall missed first by just 1.1 seconds as the race came down to the final kick. She completed the 5K course in a time of 19:01, helping Westminster to a 3rd place team finish.

September 5
Jessie Kuykendall, Westminster College
Kuykendall, a junior from Warsaw, Mo., wasted little time in returning to last season's form. Coming off a conference title last fall Kuykendall took first place in this year's opening event, the Principia Open.; setting a new personal best time and school record. Kuykendall took first place on the 4K course, finishing with a time of 14:56.
