2018 Women's Cross Country Players of the Week

SLIAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week - Oct. 15
Kelsey Phillips, Spalding University

Kelsey Phillips receives her first weekly award this season after leading the Golden Eagles at the Jenna Strong Classic. Phillips, a junior from Shepherdsville, Ky., set a school record in the 5K distance with a mark of 19:35. Her top team finish is the 5th time this season she has paced Spalding in a race.

SLIAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week - Oct. 8
Lauren Coleman, Webster University

Coleman, a sophomore from St. Peters, Mo., finished 23rd overall at the Fast Cats Classic, completing the 5K course in a time of 20:44. Coleman was one of three Gorloks to place in the top 30 of the race, a race that included 152 runners. Her time was the third fastest 5K distance by a Webster runner this season.

SLIAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week - Oct. 1
Jessie Kuykendall, Westminster College

Jessie Kuykendall wins her 3rd weekly award this season after a 3rd place finish at the H.W. Wright Classic last weekend. Kuykendall completed the 6K race in a time of 23:07. 

SLIAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week - Sept. 24
Sierra Howardson, Iowa Wesleyan University

Howardson, a freshman from Ft. Madison, adds another weekly honor from the conference office. Howardson placed 23rd out of 324 runners in the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational. She was the top finisher among SLIAC runners in the race, completing the 6K course with a time of 23:34. That mark sets a new personal best time by 47-seconds.

SLIAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week - Sept. 17
Jessie Kuykendall, Westminster College

Jessie Kuykendall picks up her second straight SLIAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week award. Kuykendall notched her second consecutive top ten finish, placing 7th at the Missouri Southern Stampede. She finished the 5K race in a time of 18:58, competing in a field of 205 runners.

SLIAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week - Sept. 10
Jessie Kuykendall, Westminster College

Kuykendall, a senior competed in her first race this fall and picked up a 2nd place finish at the UIS Prairie Star Invitational. Kuykendall completed the 4K course in a time of 15:50, a mile pace of 3:58 for the race. 

SLIAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week - Sept. 4
Sierra Howardson, Iowa Wesleyan University

Sierra Howardson had an impressive collegiate debut for the newly launched Tigers cross country program, claiming a first-place finish and earning SLIAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week honors. Howardson, a freshman from Danville, Iowa, raced to a time of 16:56, besting 29 other runners in the field and helping the Tigers to a third-place finish at the meet.
