Fontbonne Names New Associate Head Soccer Coach

The Fontbonne University athletic department is pleased to announce the hiring of Ricky Andrews as its new Associate Head Men's and Women's Soccer Coach. Coach Andrews is replacing former Associate Head Coach Michael Poropat who pursued the Head Men's and Women's Soccer Coach position at Louisiana State University – Alexandria.

"I am thrilled to welcome Coach Andrews to our staff," Head Men's and Women's Soccer Coach Brian Hoener said. "His playing and previous coaching experience will be an asset to our programs and we're excited that he is part of our Fontbonne family. "

Coach Andrews comes to Fontbonne with experience coaching at the collegiate, club and high school level. Most recently, Coach Andrews served as the assistant coach at Webster Groves High School in St. Louis and as a club coach with St. Louis Scott Gallagher. His collegiate coaching experience came at Harris Stowe College in St. Louis.

Coach Andrews enjoyed a successful collegiate and professional playing career prior to coaching. He earned NAIA All-American honors while playing at Harris-Stowe and trained with the Arsenal Football Club prior to college where he earned Arsenal Football Youth Player of the Year. After college, Coach Andrews spent time playing for the St. Louis Steamers and St. Louis Ambush indoor organizations.
