Westminster's Lutz Nominated As NCAA Women of the Year

Westminster College's Leigh Ann Lutz is the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference nominee for 2014 NCAA Women of the Year. Lutz, a 2014 graduate, recently concluded an outstanding four-year career at Westminster, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Exercise Science and Biology.

Lutz graduated with a grade-point average of 4.0 and was awarded the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship earlier this year as well as the SLIAC Postgraduate Scholarship. Lutz was a four year member of the Westminster College women's basketball team where she helped the Blue Jays to a pair of NCAA Division III Tournament appearances and three conference championships. She finished her career as the program's career leader in points scored and three-point field goals as well as the single season record for three-point field goals.

The NCAA Woman of the Year Award honors graduating student-athletes who have distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers in the areas of academic achievement, athletics excellence, service and leadership. Student- athletes are nominated only once in their career by their institution.

Other SLIAC nominees were Caty Eeten, women's basketball player from Eureka College and Carlie Sanderude, women's soccer and tennis player from Principia College.
