SLIAC Players of the Week - Feb. 3

This week's SLIAC Players of the Week are Brady Slagle, from MacMurray College, and Shelby Smith, from Blackburn College.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Brady Slagle, MacMurray College

Slagle, a senior forward from Winchester, Ill., is the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the third time this season. Slagle guided MacMurray to a pair of conference wins last week, recording a double double in each game. Slagle scored 21 points while grabbing 13 rebounds in a win over Iowa Wesleyan. In that game he added four assists and one steal while shooting 8-of-16 from the field. Slagle followed with 13 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Greenville. On the week Slalge averaged 17.0 points, 11.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Shelby Smith, Blackburn College

Smith, a senior forward from Jerseyville, Ill., is this week's SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week. Smith put together back to back 20-point games last week to garner the honors. Against Webster Smith scored 21 points, on 7-of-9 shooting, and added six rebounds and two blocked shots. Two days later she followed with 23 points and six rebounds in a win over Westminster. On the week Smith averaged 22.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.

SPECIAL MENTION

  • Caty Eeten, Eureka College (Women's Basketball) In a game against Greenville last week, Eeten became Eureka's all-time leader in field goals made with 588. She finished the game with 22 points and 11 rebounds.
