SLIAC Players of the Week - March 31
This week's SLIAC Players of the Week include Hannah Burger of Greenville College, Alex Dowley, Greenville College, Derek Ferch of Spalding University, Javier Guerra of Spalding University, Heather Heisse of Webster University, Kyle Jenkins of Spalding University, David Lambus of Webster University, Marissa Lewis of Webster University, Lauren McClain of Webster University, and Tiffany Samsoe of Greenville College.

SLIAC/DIAMOND SPORTS HITTER OF THE WEEK Ferch, a senior infielder from Louisville, Ky., is this week's Diamond Sports Hitter of the Week. Ferch led his team to four wins on the week, hitting .636 with 10 runs batted in. Ferch had multiple hits in all five games on the week including four three hit performances. His standout games were a 5-for-7 outing in a double header against Eureka in which he added six runs batted in. On the week Ferch was 14-of-22 at the plate with 10 RBI and four runs scored. |

SLIAC/DIAMOND SPORTS PITCHER OF THE WEEK Guerra, a freshman from Louisville, Ky., is the Diamond Sports Pitcher of the Week after tossing a no-hitter in his first collegiate start. Guerra, making just his second appearance and first start, tossed a seven inning no-hitter against Eureka. Guerra walked just one batter while striking 11 in the game.

SLIAC SOFTBALL HITTER OF THE WEEK Samsoe, a freshman infielder from Norco, Calif., helped the Panthers to a perfect 4-0 record in conference play last week. Samsoe hit .727 on the week with seven runs batted in. She recorded three multi-hit games including a 3-for-3 performance in game one of a double header against Eureka. Samsoe was 8-for-11 on the week with eight runs scored and finished with an .800 on-base percentage.

SLIAC SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK Burger, a junior from New Berlin, Ill., is this week's SLIAC Pitcher of the Week after winning both of her outings last week. Burger went six innings, striking out four, in a win over Eureka. She followed with a complete game win over Westminster in which she allowed just one run. Burger finished with a 2.15 earned-run average on the week, allowing four runs in 13 innings, while striking out five.

SLIAC MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK Dowley, a junior from Spring Arbor, Mich., went 4-0 on the week with wins over Central Christian and Kansas Wesleyan. Dowley won at #3 singles against Central Christian 6-4, 6-0 and then picked up a win at #2 singles over Kansas Wesleyan by the score of 6-3, 6-1. Dowley added a pair of wins at #1 doubles, 9-8 over Central Christian and 8-3 over Kansas Wesleyan.

SLIAC WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK Lewis, a junior from Owasso, Okla., went 4-0 on the week with all four wins coming against conference opponents. Lewis, playing at the top spot, picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win over Blackburn and then a 6-1, 6-1 win over Greenville. She added an 8-0 win at #1 doubles over Blackburn and a 8-2 win over Greenville.

SLIAC MEN'S TRACK AND FIELD PLAYER OF THE
WEEK Jenkins, a junior, had yet another impressive outing last weekend as he captured first-place in three events. Jenkins won the shot put with a distance of 14.68 meters. He added a first-place finish in the discus throw with a distance of 50.00 meters, the second best distance in the nation this season. Jenkins concluded the event with a first-place finish (collegiate) in the hammer throw with a distance of 51.50 meters. This is the second straight week he has earned the weekly award. |

SLIAC MEN'S TRACK AND FIELD PLAYER OF THE
WEEK Lambus, a sophomore from St. Louis, Mo., had a pair of top two finishes at the Washington University Invitational last weekend. Lambus finished second in the 1500-meter run with a time of 3:56.11, marking the 8th best qualifying time this season. He also won the 800-meter run with a time of 1:55.13, the top performance in the conference this season. |

SLIAC WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD PLAYER OF THE
WEEK McClain, a freshman from St. Louis, Mo., earned her second straight Player of the Week honor this week. McClain competed in the Washington University Invitational last week, finishing 11th in a field of 64 in the shot put with a distance of 11.20 meters.

SLIAC WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD PLAYER OF THE
WEEK Heisse, a senior from Troy, Mo., picked up weekly honors after competing in the Washington University Invitational last weekend. Heisse wasted no time in jumping right into the action, racing in the 10,000 meter run early in the season. Heisse placed 19th at the event with a time of 41:04.35.

SPECIAL MENTIONS
- Joe Becker, Fontbonne University (Baseball) Becker recorded a no-hitter in a win over Principia. He worked seven scoreless innings while striking out six.
- Isaac Behme, Webster University (Baseball) Behme worked his way into the Webster record book by going 10 innings in a 1-0 win over Blackburn. Behme allowed just four hits in the game while striking out seven.
- Jacob Ayers, Iowa Wesleyan College (Men's Track and Field) Ayers set personal bests last weekend at the Washington University Invitational. He finished the 800-meter race in 2:03.55 and the 1500-meter race in 4:19.94.
- Deion Hughes, Westminster College (Baseball) Hughes tossed a complete game shutout against Greenville working seven innings and allowing just two hits while striking out 11.
- Taylor Stoulp, Webster University (Baseball) Stoulp hit .500 on the week including a 4-for-4 game against MacMurray in game two of the three game series.
- Anthony Willeford, MacMurray College (Baseball) Willeford threw eight scoreless innings in a win over Iowa Wesleyan, allowing just two hits while striking out 11 and walking just one.
