Westminster's Lutz Breaks All-Time Scoring Record (February 6, 2014)
Senior Leigh Ann Lutz broke Westminster’s all-time scoring record during the 81-71 win over Greenville College Wednesday evening. Lutz has proven to be a force to reckon with on the court for Westminster. She holds the 3-point career record (229-673), the 3-point season record (75-202) and is one of seven members of Westminster’s 1,000 Point Club.....MORE

Westminster's Lee Jr. Scores 1,000th Point (February 6, 2014)
Junior Verdis Lee Jr. scored his 1,000th career point in Wednesday night’s 75-60 win over Greenville College. Lee Jr. came into tonight’s game needing just 9 points to join Westminster’s 1,000 Point Club.....MORE

AROUND THE SLIAC

The Blackburn basketball teams will play their final home game of the 2013-14 season on Wednesday night as they host Fontbonne in a SLIAC double header. The women tip at 6 p.m. with the men starting at 8 p.m.

Caty Eeten put in another double-double week, averaging 21.0 points and 11.5 rebounds per game. Eeten finished with 21 points and 13 rebounds in a win over Fontbonne and followed with 21 points and 10 rebounds against Spalding.

The Fontbonne men's team had a three game winning streak snapped last week in a 78-75 loss to Westminster. During their streak the Griffins defeated Iowa Wesleyan, Principia and Eureka as they moved their conference record closer to .500.

Coley Baker made her mark in history last week by not only recording a triple-double but putting her name in the NCAA Division III record book. Baker tied a national record with 18 blocked shots in her game against Blackburn and finished the game with 14 points, 15 rebounds and 18 blocked shots.
This week starts a three game home stand for the Tigers men's basketball team. It also marks their final three home games of the season. The Tigers will host Blackburn this Saturday before facing Eureka and Fontbonne next week.
Brady Slagle averaged a double-double last week, averaging 22.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. He scored a season high 28 points in a win over Blackburn and followed by recording his sixth double-double of the season with 17 points and 14 rebounds against Webster.
The Principia basketball teams each picked up wins on Tuesday night over St. Louis College of Pharmacy. The Principia women won 76-58 while the men's team followed with a 77-56 win.

Jessica Guy stepped up her performance last week in a key match-up against Eureka. Guy helped lead her team to a 73-64 win in a battle for home court advantage in the SLIAC Tournament. Guy finished the game with 18 points and 18 rebounds, including seven offensive rebounds.

Webster's Ahmad Smith exploded for 31 points in last week's 90-85 win over MacMurray College. Smith was 13-of-18 from the field and added five steals in helping his team pick up a win over the Highlanders. On the season Smith is averaging 15.8 points per game, third most in the SLIAC.
The Westminster basketball programs swept Player of the Week honors this week as Joe James and Leigh Ann Lutz picked up the award. James averaged 26.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.0 steals per game while Lutz averaged 24.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.5 steals per game.
