Fontbonne Launches New Athletic Wesbite
Fontbonne University Director of Athletics, Maria Eftink, and Sports Information Director, Danielle Donze, are excited to announce the Griffins' 2015 athletic website redesign with PrestoSports.
"We are so excited to be able to launch a new Fontbonne Athletics website," said Eftink. "The website is our virtual front door. The new website offers a fresh new look with much more emphasis on social media and easy access to schedules, rosters, successes, and much more. I thank Sports Information Director Danielle Donze for all of her work with the Presto staff in developing the new website. We look to continue to increase the amount of videos, press releases, and social media content available to our fans. We hope the entire Fontbonne Family is just as excited as we are about the new design."
"One of our main objectives was to allow all fans to be able to fully engage in content that we've created across all socia media platforms, regardless of their level of membership," says Donze. "We wanted to ensure that the typically exclusive content on each platform was available to all of our fans".
The new website will now be a more responsive design, meaning it will fit across all platforms used whether that's desktop, mobile or tablet-based. The design has maintained several main navigation bars from the original website, which we think will please both old and new fans, and condensed others. Fans will still be able to access gameday links and news releases on the homepage, while seeing a major increase in social media presence at the forefront as well.
Each sport's page has been customized as much as possible for that indivdual sport. If teams have active social media accounts, we've incorporated those onto their team page, to give fans of respective sports as much media presence as possible. Each sport's video index is showcased as well.
The schedule slider above the Latest News is only activated in preseason and during the season. You will notice that once schedules are loaded for upcoming seasons, the upcoming games will be showcased in white boxes. During the season, the left side of the slider will also display recent games showcased in purple with the white upcoming games on the right. "This should give fans immediate access to recent scores and gameday links", says Donze.
Presto's linked system allows the automated upload of statistics to our website when opponents upload boxscores to Presto's online network. The SLIAC and our affiliate conferences (MCVL and MLC) each have Presto websites as well. As soon as a game's boxscore is uploaded to the Presto system, each Presto website that publishes the game is automatically updated. Fans are able to gain immediate access to stats and gameday links the moment the upload is complete.
