SLIAC Players of the Week - Oct. 20
A handful of standout performances highlight this week's St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week winners. This week's winners are Kieley Leach, Sarah Litwiller, Ian McReynolds, Tim Menzel, Allyson Mitchell, Kayla Reeg, Nate Richards, and Abby Rockers.

MEN'S SOCCER (OFFENSIVE) Menzel, a senior from Webster Groves, Mo., helped Fontbonne pick up two more conference victories and remain undefeated in SLIAC play. Menzel scored his team's first goal against Principia, helping the Griffins get on the board early. Menzel followed with two goals and two assists in his team's win over Eureka. Again Menzel asserted himself early, scoring his two goals in the game's first 10 minutes of play. On the week Menzel finished with three goals and two assists for eight total points. He currently leads the SLIAC in scoring.

MEN'S SOCCER (DEFENSIVE) McReynolds, a senior from Florissant, Mo., finished the week in net with a scoreless performance in two outings. Against MacMurray he played 45-minutes of scoreless action as he picked up the win. He followed that game with a two save effort in a scoreless tie against Principia College. On the week McReynolds finished with 155-minutes of scoreless time in net with two saves.

WOMEN'S SOCCER (OFFENSIVE) Leach, a junior from Sycamore, Ill., helped her team record their first two victories of the season last week; defeating Rockford and MacMurray. Leach recorded a hat trick in each game and totaled six goals and two assists on the week. Leach helped her team take control early in each contest, scoring the game's first three goals against Rockford and adding two assists early in the second-half. Against MacMurray Leach tallied the game's first two scores before netting her third goal at the 36-minute mark of the contest.

WOMEN'S SOCCER (DEFENSIVE) Rockers, a freshman from Jefferson City, Mo., anchored a Blue Jay defense that recorded back to back shutouts in conference games. Rockers and the Blue Jay defense stymied Iowa Wesleyan, holding them without a shot in a 3-0 win. Rockers and the Blue Jays then limited Spalding, who entered the game with the conference's best shot percentage, to just three shots on goal in a 3-0 win.

VOLLEYBALL (OFFENSIVE) Mitchell, a freshman, was the go to player for the Panthers last week as she lead her team in kills in both matches. Mitchell finished with a team high 11 kills in a sweep of Eureka. In the showdown against Westminster the freshman responded with a match high 15 kills while hitting .419 on 31 attempts. On the week Mitchell averaged 4.33 kills per set, hitting .345 and accounted for 4.6 points per set.

VOLLEYBALL (DEFENSIVE) Reeg, a sophomore from St. Louis, Mo., is this week's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week after picking up her duties on the defensive side of the ball in addition to running the Blue Jay offense. Reeg recorded double digit digs in a pair of conference matches while also showing her quickness at the net. Reeg picked up 17 digs in a win over Fontbonne, adding four block assists. She followed with 16 digs in a three set sweep of then undefeated Greenville, adding three block assists. In six sets on the week she finished with 33 total digs, averaging 4.71 digs per set, and seven blocks. |

MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY Richards, a sophomore from Elsah, Ill., placed first at the Benedictine-Springfield Invitational and helped the Panthers capture the tournament title. Richards finished the course in a time of 29:11, beating the nearest competitor by over 20-seconds.

WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY Litwiller, a senior from Concord, Calif., faced a tough field at the Bradley Open. Competing in a field with nearly 300 runners, with numerous D I racers, Litwiller finished in the top 81. She finished the 6K course with a time of 22:41, averaging a 6:05 mile pace.

Other Notables:
- Jessica Davis, Webster University (Women's Soccer) Davis recorded two saves in a shutout win over Principia, becoming Webster's all-time leader in shutouts.
- Allison Guerra, Blackburn College (Women's Soccer) Guerra recorded a hat trick in her team's 6-0 win over Iowa Wesleyan College.
- Sam Kersting, Webster University (Volleyball) Kersting was active at the next all week for Webster averaging 1.46 blocks per set in her team's four matches.
- Amanda Kiso, Westminster College (Volleyball) Kiso finished with 13 kills while hitting .478 and adding four blocks in helping the Blue Jays top Greenville.
- Rachel Nelson, Webster University (Volleyball) Nelson hit .493 in four matches last week, twice totaling double digit kills.
- Jake Pope, Blackburn College (Men's Soccer) Pope netted a hat trick in his team's win over Eureka last week and finished the week with four goals.
