SLIAC Players of the Week - Dec. 15
This week's SLIAC Players of the Week feature two student-athletes that put up big numbers, one against a nationally ranked opponent and the other against a conference foe with career milestone. This week's winners are Ahmad Smith, from Webster University, and Briana Rae, from Blackburn College.
SLIAC MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK Smith, a senior guard from St. Louis, Mo., dropped in a season high 33 points as the Gorloks took on #3 ranked Washington University-St. Louis, falling just short in an 80-70 loss. Smith went 13-of-19 from the field including two three-pointers and added five rebounds and two steals. Smith's 33 points are the most by a SLIAC player this season.

SLIAC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK Rae, a senior forward from Staunton, Ill., powered her way to a sixth consecutive double-double while etching her name into the Blackburn record books. Rae scored 25 points while grabbing 13 rebounds in a conference game against Westminster. In the game Rae topped 1,000 points for her career, reaching the milestone by knocking down a free-throw late in the game. On the week Rae shot 47-percent from the field and went 11-of-14 from the free-throw line while adding two assists and one blocked shot. |

- Megan Duisen, MacMurray College (Women's Basketball) Duisen recored a double-double in a win over St. Mary of the Woods with 28 points and 10 rebounds.
- Laura Goodnight, Greenville College (Women's Basketball) Goodnight netted 28 points and 10 rebounds in a win over St. Mary of the Woods.
- Kayla Styles, Spalding University (Women's Basketball) Styles went for 17 points and 15 rebounds in a loss against #14 ranked DePauw University.
- Andrea Zalis, Westminster College (Women's Basketball) Zalis recorded a double-double with 26 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Blackburn.
