Iowa Wesleyan Tabbed As Preseason Favorites By D3 News
The annual D3 News Women's Basketball Preseason Preview issue is out and they have tabbed Iowa Wesleyan College as the 2014-15 preseason favorites in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Iowa Wesleyan was picked as the favorites of the SLIAC while Spalding University and Eureka College were also highlighted in the conference preview section. Karla Vietinghoff, of Iowa Wesleyan, was also picked as the 2014-15 SLIAC Player of the Year and as an honorable mention Preseason All-American.
An excerpt from the guide in the conference preview section states:
"Iowa Wesleyan (22-3) returns three starters from last season. Reigning SLIAC Player of the Year Karla Vietinghoff (17.1 ppg) provides a scoring lift for the Tigers. Defending champion Spalding (16-11) welcomes back three starters and nearly its entire roster. Jessica Guy (14.9 ppg) leads the offense."
