Andersen and Behrle Take Top SLIAC Honors (April 21, 2015)
Hanne Andersen and Monica Behrle were awarded the top St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference individual honors for the 2015 season while Webster's Martha Davis-Goldstein was named Coach of the Year.....MORE
Spalding Dominant in SLIAC Tournament Victory (April 21, 2015)
Spalding University put together a dominant performance this week in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Golf Tournament, capturing their second conference title in program history. The Golden Eagles placed four players in the top six of the field including the top two finishers.....MORE

AROUND THE SLIAC
The Blackburn women's tennis team placed fifth in this year's SLIAC Women's Tennis Tournament. The Beavers dropped their first match of the tournament to Greenville but closed out their season with a 5-0 win over Fontbonne in the fifth place match. Karlee Brimberry, Maggie Best, Megan Isringhausen, Sam Brown, and Liz Orr all won their singles matches to propel the Beavers to victory. In addition Best was named to the SLIAC Women's Tennis All-Sportsmanship Team. |
Eureka College volleyball team gave up a few hours of their time this past Saturday morning to take advantage of an opportunity to give back to the community. A handful of the volleyball players participated in the Maroon and Gold Rule project, a community service project to provide Eureka residents and organizations with free spring cleanup.....FULL STORY |
The Griffins baseball team is still in the hunt for a postseason berth. They are currently in third place in the SLIAC West Division with an 11-5 record. The Griffins have a pair of three game series remaining against conference opponents Iowa Wesleyan and Webster. Fontbonne is currently one game behind Westminster and two games behind Webster with the top two teams in the division advancing to the SLIAC Tournament. |
The Greenville baseball team secured a spot in the 2015 SLIAC Baseball Tournament when they swept Fontbonne University in a double header last weekend. The Panthers won game one 9-2 and game two 5-4 to improve to 12-4 in conference play. This marks the 10th time in the last 11 years the Panthers will be playing in the postseason. Greenville will also serve as the host school for the tournament which is set to be played May 7-9. |

The MacMurray softball team clinched a berth into the 2015 SLIAC Softball Tournament for the first time since 1999. The Highlanders have won nine straight games to improve to 12-6 in the conference and 16-15 overall. Pitcher Marissa Harris was named the SLIAC Softball Pitcher of the Week last week and currently ranks second in the SLIAC in strikeouts with 120 this season. |
Principia's Hanne Andersen was named the 2015 SLIAC Women's Tennis Player of the Year. Anderson was 14-4 in singles play this year, playing at the #1 spot for the Panthers. She added 13 wins in doubles play and becomes the program's 10th player to earn the conference's top individual honor. Andersen, along with Clair Horton and Lena Carlson, earned First Team All-Conference honors. |

The Webster softball team wrapped up its conference season on a high note, winning their final three games. The Gorloks took the final game of a double header against Greenville and then swept Eureka in a double header. Webster is 10-21 on the season and finished 8-10 in the SLIAC. They close out their regular season with double headers against Washington University-St. Louis and Rose-Hulman. |
The Westminster softball team snapped their six game losing streak at the right time with a sweep of Spalding, who is one spot ahead of them for the playoffs. The Blue Jays are 12-19 overall and 9-7 in the SLIAC. They close out conference action this week with games against Greenville. Pitcher Alyson Hahn, who ranks in the top five of the conference in wins, earned-run average, and strikeouts, will be counted on in crunch time. |
