Gorloks' Summer Camps in Full Swing

Webster University basketball and volleyball summer camps are now in full swing with kids off all ages learning...and having fun.  The camps are run by the Webster coaching staffs and student/athletes, instructing campers on how to become better players while making it an enjoyable experience.

Volleyball camps for grade and high schoolers started it off the week of June 8-14 with 35 total grade schoolers and high school players taking part.  Webster Head Coach Merry Graf, and her staff, stress players improving their skills in a competitive but fun atmosphere.  This was Graf's 12th year hosting the camp.   A Nike All Skills Camp, with 37 participants, and Nike Advanced Volleyball Camp (July 8-10) are underway this week. 

Volleyball specialty camps for players in 8th-12th grades in setting, defense, and hitting will be offered on July 27-29.  Volleyball players will have the opportunity to take their training a step further through these specialized skills camps.  Registration for one or all of these camps can be found HERE.

Webster women's head coach Jordan Olufson, with men's head coach Chris Bunch and their staff, hosted 26 campers at a boys and girls camp for grade schoolers, ages 8-11, on June 29 through July 2.  Campers received fundamental instruction in ball handling, shooting, rebounding, passing, defense, and team play.  They also participated in games designed to enhance skills while giving a greater appreciation of the sport. A Nike Women's Basketball Camp was held on June 14-17, with a second to be held on July 12-14.   Some campers took advantage of the opportunity to stay overnight.  Off court activities included pizza and movie nights.  You can view some highlights of the camp HERE   Registration information for the July 12-14 session can be found HERE.

A Nike men's basketball camp, directed by Bunch, was held on June 21-24, with a second to be held on July 19-22.  These camps are for young basketball players looking to develop and refine their basketball fundamentals and includes a curriculum for intermediate/advanced players looking to enhance their skills set. Emphasis is placed on fundamental development, shooting, offensive moves, defense, rebounding, team play, and more.  Registration info for the July 19-22 camp, which includes an overnight option as well, can be found HERE.
