Blackburn's Davis Nets 1,000th Career Point in Beavers Loss (January 31, 2016)
In what looked like an afternoon filled with promise and milestones, quickly turned to disappointment as Blackburn College Men’s Basketball team fell to Greenville College 130-116. Blackburn junior Chris Davis provided additional excitement for the crowd when he scored his 1,000th career point.....MORE
SLIAC Game of the Week: Webster at Eureka (February 2, 2016)
This week's SLIAC Game of the Week features the men's basketball game game between Fontbonne University and Webster University in what is known as the "Battle of Big Bend". The two schools, located just five miles apart, will face each other for the second time this season and are among the teams battling for postseason position.....MORE

AROUND THE SLIAC
The Blackburn women's basketball team is looking to snap their seven game losing streak. The Beavers will host Webster and Principia this weekend as they look for their third win this season. Sophomore guard Aleisha Stiltner leads the team in scoring at 9.6 points per game while senior Danae Smith is averaging 8.1 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. |
The Red Devil women's basketball team is on a five game winning streak, the second longest active streak in the conference. They are now 8-11 overall and 7-5 in the SLIAC and are on the road this week at MacMurray and Westminster. The Red Devils defeated MacMurray in their first meeting this season 67-52 and fell to Westminster 57-42. |
The Fontbonne women's basketball team had a two game winning streak snapped last Saturday in a loss to Spalding. The Griffins had won four of their previous five games to improve to 7-11 overall and 6-6 in the conference. The Griffins will face Westminster on Wednesday and then host Webster on Saturday in a rivalry game. |
The Greenville women's hoops team wrapped up an impressive month of January with a win over Blackburn. The Panthers went 7-2 during the month and are now 13-6 overall and 9-3 in the conference. The Panthers currently sit in third place in the standings and will host Spalding and MacMurray this week as they chase down a spot in the conference tournament. |

The MacMurray men's basketball team extended their winning streak to five games with an 81-75 win over Principia last Saturday. The Highlanders are 11-8 overall and 8-4 in the conference as they sit just a half game out of first-place. MacMurray hosts Eureka on Wednesday night and will travel to Greenville on Saturday as they look to keep their winning streak alive. |
The tough luck season for Principia men's basketball continued on Tuesday night in a loss to Iowa Wesleyan. Principia has lost seven games this season by seven or fewer points. The Panthers head out on the road for their next two games, as they face Blackburn and Spalding. The Panthers final two home games will be Feb. 13 against Greenville and Feb. 16 against Fontbonne. |

The Webster men's basketball team extended their winning streak to three games with a win over Eureka last Saturday in the SLIAC Game of the Week. Hunter Ward led the Gorloks with 24 points and 10 rebounds as Webster moved to 10-9 overall and 7-5 in the conference. The Gorloks currently sit in a tie for third-place as they look to make their 18th consecutive SLIAC Tournament. |
The hot stretch for the Westminster women's basketball team continued as they topped Iowa Wesleyan, marking their eighth win in a row to close out the month of January. The Blue Jays sit at 14-4 overall and first-place in the SLIAC standings with a 10-2 record. Westminster will close out the regular season with four of their last six games at home. |
