He was named First Team All-SLIAC all four years and also earned SLIAC Player of the Year honors in 1991, 1992 and 1993. Rodriguez also earned All-Region honors all four years.

At the time of his induction into the MacMurray College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2001, Rodriguez held six school records in men's soccer. He held career records for goals (62) and assists (61), single-season records for assists (23) and points (60), and single-game records for goals (5) and points (15). His 15 points in a single game (vs. Parks on October 6, 1992) still ranks in the Top 10 in NCAA Division III.
