Dave Pierce

Dave Pierce of Maryville University had the vision to see what NCAA Division III membership and an NCAA Conference could do for his school and others in the Illinois-Missouri area and spearheaded the formation of the conference. He was the Athletics Director at Maryville from 1983-2002, the Head Men's Basketball coach there from 1976-1991, and the Golf Coach from 1993-2001. The Saints golfers won SLIAC championships in 1999, 2000, and 2001, and Maryville hosted the NCAA Division III National Golf Tournament in 2001.
