Nelson's Season-High 32-Point Performance Leads Griffins Past Red Devils

Madison Nelson dominated the Red Devils going off for a season-high 32 points on 13-of-17 shooting.
Ja'mise Bailey shot 60.0 percent from the floor finishing with 17 points and seven boards. Mallory Ronshausen added 15 points, while Kourtney White filled up the stat line with 14 points, nine rebounds, and six assists.
In the first quarter, layups from White and Nelson gave Fontbonne a 13-11 lead with 4:24 left. The Red Devils went on to regain the lead and closed out on a 12-6 run leading 23-19 after one.
Both teams were feeling it early from the floor with Eureka shooting 66.7 percent, while Fontbonne connected on 56.3 percent of its attempts.
In the second quarter, the Griffins grabbed a 27-26 lead at 7:26 on Nelson's 3-pointer. Fontbonne continued to hold its lead and expanded it out to 43-33 on Bailey's 3-pointer at the 1:37 mark.
The Griffins held onto that double-digit lead the final minute going into the locker room on top, 47-35.
Fontbonne stayed hot from the floor hitting 56.3 percent of its attempts, including draining five three-pointers. Nelson outscored the Red Devils by herself with 13 points on 4-of-5 shooting.
In the third, the Griffins remained in control leading 60-44 with 4:43 on the clock after Ronshausen made her free throws.
Eureka didn't let the deficit get out of hand as the outscored Fontbonne 10-2 over the next four minutes putting them down 62-54. However, prior to the quarter ending, Haley Buscher came through with a 3-pointer giving Fontbonne its double-digit lead back, 65-54.
In the fourth, the Griffins put the game away outscoring Eureka 25-14 and shooting 60.0 percent from the floor allowing them to go on for the 22-point win.
Fontbonne shot a season-high 52.3 percent from the floor and for the fourth time in its last five games the Griffins hit at least 10 three-pointers.
