Baseball topped by Benedictine on Friday

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The baseball team suffered a 10-3 set back against Benedictine in Florida on Friday afternoon.

Klaiton Wolff delivered an RBI single in the top of the first inning to give Greenville the early 1-0 lead.  Benedictine answered with two runs in the bottom of the first to establish a 2-1 lead, but Greenville added single runs in the top of the second and third innings for the 3-2 Panther advantage.

Joe Wood doubled and scored in the second innng, and Sam Hodges had an RBI single in the third.

The Panthers undoing occurred in the bottom of the sixth when Benedictine added five runs.  They tacked on three more runs over the seventh and eighth innings to end with a 10-3 win.

Ryan Taylor, Hodges, and Wolff all had two hits for Greenville.

The Panthers received the start from Jonah Moore on the mound.  He went 5.1 inning and allowed five runs on nine hits.

The Panthers (8-6) finish their trip with a game against Massachusetts-Dartmouth on Saturday in Auburndale.
