Women's Basketball Win Streak Gets Snapped By Gorloks; White Reaches 1,000 Career Points
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University women’s basketball team suffered a tough 84-71 loss against Webster on Saturday. Webster goes to 19-2 overall and 9-1 in the SLIAC. Fontbonne falls to 11-10 overall and 6-4 in the SLIAC.

Kourtney White led Fontbonne with 20 points becoming the 10th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points. She did it in just 78 games which is second best all-time behind Laurie Kralemann who accomplished it in 73 games.
Mallory Ronshausen only played in 15 minutes due to injury, but dominated with 19 points on 5-of-9 shooting. Madison Nelson was the final player in double-figures with 10 points.
In the first quarter, the Gorloks jumped out to an 11-5 lead on Bethany Lancaster's layup. Fontbonne went on to outscore Webster 14-4 with three three-pointers from Ronshausen giving them a 19-15 lead.
Webster added a late bucket prior to the quarter ending cutting the deficit to 19-17. Fontbonne shot 42.9 percent from the floor in the first with Ronshausen leading all scorers with 12 points.
In the second, the Griffins held onto its marginal lead up until the Gorloks grabbed a 24-22 advantage on Nysa Gilchrist's layup at 7:36. Fontbonne got the deficit to within four on a few different occasions, but the Gorloks fended off Fontbonne leading 44-38 at the break.
Fontbonne shot 33.3 percent in the second with Ronshausen leading with seven points. The Griffins went 12-of-15 (80.0 percent) from the free throw line. Webster, meanwhile, shot 55.0 percent with Rolfes having 10 points.
In the third, the Gorloks went on a 9-0 run expanding its lead out to 53-38 with 6:59 remaining. Webster maintained its double-digit lead the rest of the quarter owning a 71-56 advantage.
Fontbonne shot 50.0 percent from the field with White taking over with 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting.
In the fourth, the Griffins would outscore the Gorloks 15-13 and hold them to a 25.0 field goal percentage, however it was Webster going on for the 13-point win.
Fontbonne finished shooting 41.7 percent from the field and hit 11 three-pointers. The Griffins also went 20-of-28 (71.4 percent) from the free throw line.
