Women's Volleyball Closes Out Regular Season With Five Set Win Over Trojans

The Basics
Set 1: Both teams traded lead changes in the first but a 3-0 run from Fontbonne evened it up, 16-16. The Trojans started gaining some breathing room with a 21-18 advantage and that forced Fontbonne to take a timeout.
Out of the break, the Griffins responded with a 3-0 run with Hannah Gallagher's kill tying the game. However, the Trojans closed out the set on a 4-0 run for the 25-21 win.
Set 2: The Griffins this time around opened with a 14-7 lead on a double block from Jordan Harpel and Jadyn Fitzgerald. They maintained its lead the rest of the way with Gallagher's kill giving Fontbonne the 25-20 victory.
Set 3: After Hannibal-LaGrange opened with a 9-4 run, the Griffins answered with a 5-0 rally of its own. Later, the Trojans seemed to be in control leading 20-13, however, the Griffins went on a 7-0 run tying it up.
The Trojans regained a 23-22 lead but a kill from Ella Werner-Click, an attack error, and a kill from Kristen Kaempfe secured the comeback 25-23 win.
Set 4: The Trojans led 12-9 and stretched it out to 19-14 on Myrnaliz Perez's kill which forced Fontbonne to take a timeout. Fontbonne got the deficit down to 23-19 but kills from Perez and Miriam Nardi forced a fifth and final set after the 25-19 victory.
Set 5: After it was tied 3-3, the Griffins went on a 4-0 run leading 7-3. The Griffins remained in control the rest of the way going on for the 15-10 set and match win on Jadyn Fitzgerald's kill.
Fontbonne Leaders
- The Griffins finished with 51 kills and a .114 hitting percentage.
- Defensively, the team came away with 82 digs and 10 block assists.
- Fitzgerald led with her 15th career double-double having a match-high 17 kills, 15 digs, and four block assists.
- Kaempfe added 12 kills and nine digs.
- Gallagher was a kill shy off another double-double with nine and 12 digs.
- Ella Werner-Click filled up the stat sheet for her 11th career double-double totaling a career-high seven kills, 38 assists, and 14 digs.
- Emma Pramik posted a team-high 17 digs.
