Blue Jays Earn First Conference Victory

With the victory, the Blue Jays improved to 2-5 on the season (1-1 in SLIAC) and the Griffins fell to 1-12 (0-3 in SLIAC).

Grant Peterson and Jake Powderly both earned straight-set victories in their singles matches. Peterson won his match 6-4, 6-3, while Powderly won his match 6-2, 6-1. 

As a result of the Griffins' shortened team, Brendan Boswell and Riley Zack also claimed singles victories but by default.

In doubles, the teams of Pete Hassenmueller/Reese Hicks and Grant Peterson/Brendan Boswell took home the wins for the Blue Jays. Hassenmueller and Hicks won their match by a convincing score of 8-0. Peterson and Boswell won theirs by default.

Adam Fuchs and Scott Strough put up a good fight in their doubles match, but they ultimately lost to Sebastian Culton and Blake Wisniewski 8-6.

Westminster next travels to Webster University on Wednesday, April 12th at 6pm for an away conference dual match.
