Westminster's Henry Nets Two in 4-1 Win Over MacMurray

Westminster's sophomore midfielder Morgan Henry netted two goals in Tuesday's 4-1 win over MacMurray College. The Westminster Blue Jays currently lead the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athetic Conference (SLIAC) with their undefeated 3-0 record and are now 5-4-1 on the season.

Henry scored the first goal of the game just 3:29 in. The Blue Jays scored again as senior Tayisah Pohtos passed the ball to senior Ashley Schimmel who placed the ball in the net. Pohtos scored just two minutes later to take the 3-0 lead.

Henry scored her second goal of the game in the second half with a shot into the right upper corner of the net, and Pohtos had the assist again. 

MacMurray scored their only goal in the 69th minute when they took a penalty kick after being fouled in the box.

The Blue Jays took 10 shots-on-goal including the four goals scored throughout the 90 minutes of play. Senior Eileen Koppy took four shots-on-goal while Schimmel took three. Pohtos had two assists on the night. 

Junior goalkeeper Ellen Woolsey recorded the win. She saw no action in her 45 minutes in goal. Freshman keeper Ali Perry went into the net in the second half. She saw two shots-on-goal and allowed one goal.

The Blue Jays will try to stay undefeated in conference on Saturday, October 10, as they travel to Eureka College for their fourth SLIAC game. First touch is at 3:00 p.m.
