Women's soccer tripped up by Millikin

DECATUR, Ill. - The women's soccer team dropped a 3-1 match at Millikin on Saturday evening.

Greenville provided pressure throughout the match, posting nine shots, including seven shots on goal.

The Panthers received their goal from Jen De Leon De Leon, her first of the season, in the 65th minute. She made the score 2-1.

Millikin led the match 1-0 at halftime with their opening goal coming in the 22nd minute.

Early in the second half, Millikin went ahead 2-0 before De Leon De Leon sliced the lead in half. With a little over six minutes remaining in the match, Millikin posted their third goal.

Emma Cadwell and Vanessa Ramirez both had three shots for Greenville. All three of Cadwell's attempts were on target and required saves from Millikin's goalkeeper.

The Panthers (0-3) host Spalding on Thursday at 7 p.m. in their SLIAC opener.
