Women's Basketball Wins Seventh In A Row, Sweeps Season Series Against Greenville For First Time Since 2012

How It Happened
In the first quarter, the Griffins opened with a 6-0 lead on Kourtney White's layup at 7:15. Later, at 4:33, White drained her 3-pointer to extend the advantage out to 14-5. In two minutes, though the Panthers went on an 8-0 run to trail by one (14-13) on Haven Robertson's free throws.
The two teams went on to meet-up at 17-17 with 1:08 remaining, however, the Griffins finished out the quarter on a 5-0 run to lead 22-17.
In the second quarter, the Griffins opened with another 6-0 lead and outscored Greenville 11-2 in the first eight minutes and 16 seconds to own a 33-19 advantage on Rylee Stafford's made free throws.
They went on to hold that double-digit lead the rest of the way as they went into the locker room on top, 38-23. Fontbonne outscored Greenville 16-6 in the quarter and connected on 60.0 percent of its shots from the floor. Greenville, meanwhile, had its struggles shooting just 17.6 percent from the field.
In the third, the Panthers got right back into the game with a 10-0 run in two minutes and 46 seconds time as Emily Reinneck's layup put them down, 38-33.
Fontbonne gained some breathing room back at 3:13 with Mallory Proffer hitting her 3-pointer to give them a 47-39 advantage. Greenville tried to not let the deficit get too much for them as Reinneck struck again prior to the quarter ending to make it a 54-50 outing heading into the fourth.
In the fourth, back-to-back 3-pointers from Proffer put Greenville in a 60-50 hole with 7:53 remaining. Later, with 4:03 remaining, Proffer went 1-of-2 from the line to give Fontbonne the 64-56 lead. However, a 4-0 run by Greenville had them down by four on Haven Robertson's layup.
The Griffins, though made it count from the free throw line in the final minutes as they went 9-of-10 from the charity-stripe to secure the eight point win.

- Fontbonne ended the afternoon shooting 49.0 percent from the floor and connecting on 12 3-pointers.
- Defensively, they forced 27 turnovers which turned into 30 points.
- Greenville shot 41.0 percent from the field and outrebounded Fontbonne, 39-28.
- The Panthers bench outscored Fontbonne, 24-0.
Fontbonne Leaders
- Rylee Stafford led with a game-high 23 points, including going 5-of-11 from downtown and 8-of-10 from the free throw line.
- Mallory Proffer had a game to remember with a season-high 20 points, to go along with her five boards and four steals.
- Kourtney White filled up her stat line with 14 points, a season-high six assists, and three steals.
- Raven Venegas just missed out on a double-double with 14 points and nine boards. She also came away with a season-high five steals.
Greenville Leaders
- Reinneck led with a team-high 18 points on 7-of-13 shooting.
- Haven Robertson added 16 points and Hannah Krukewitt came off the bench to add 12 points.
