ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The women's basketball team fell short in their opportunity to tie Webster in the SLIAC standings when they suffered a 94-77 loss on Wednesday night.

The Panthers fell behind the Gorloks in the first quarter and couldn't overcome the 28-12 deficit after the first stanza. Webster led 54-28 at halftime.

In the second half, Greenville outscored Webster 49-40 with quarter advantages of 20-17 in the third and 29-23 in the fourth, but it was not enough to dig out of the hole.

The Panthers were victims of an offensive shooting outage and an abnormally high turnover total. Greenville made 29-of-72 shots from the floor to end at a shooting percentage of 40.3 percent. They made 5-of-23 three-point attempts and ended at a 21.7 percent clip behind the three-point line. The Panthers committed 30 turnovers.

Madelyn Stephen returned to the starting lineup and ended with totals of 15 points and 10 rebounds to tally her second double-double of the season and first since November. She also had two blocked shots.

Emily Reinneck reached double-figures in scoring with 11 points, and Haven Robertson had 10 points.

Abigail Reinneck passed out six assists, and Emily Reinneck and Brittany Lopez each ended with four steals.

The Panthers saw their winning streak snapped at six, and their record dropped to 11-7 (8-3 SLIAC). Greenville will see Fontbonne on Saturday when they visit GU for a game at 1 p.m.
