Women's basketball gets back on track at Iowa Wesleyan

MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa - The women's basketball team rebounded from their first conference loss of the season by finishing one point shy of 100 with a 99-59 win at Iowa Wesleyan on Saturday.  The Panthers were leading 37-34 at halftime but poured in 40 points during the third quarter to take control of the game.

Wesley Woodard had Greenville's top scoring output, posting 22 points in the game.

Jantzen Michael tallied 14 points, and Emily Brandland and Morgan St. James each chipped in 13 points.  St. James also added eight rebounds.

Greenville protected the ball well, only having eight turnovers in the game.  Iowa Wesleyan turned the ball over 27 times which allowed Lauren Eagleson to pick up six steals.

Brittany Lopez led GU with six assists and also had three steals.

The Panthers (18-4, 12-1 SLIAC) travel to Eureka for a game on Monday at 5:30 p.m.  Greenville holds a one half game advantage over Spalding in the conference standings.
