Women's Soccer Earns Dominating Win Over Blackburn On Senior Day

Game Breakdown
Prior to the game, the team honored its seniors Mary Beers, Claire Dalton, Molly Kovarik, Alexandria Smith, Rylee Stafford, and Kierstyn Weaver.
The Griffins wasted no time striking first in the seventh minute when Krystal Kohenskey sent a pass across the field for Molly Kovarik and her shot went off the bottom of the crossbar and in for her 14th on the season.
After an own goal by Blackburn in the 24th minute, the Griffins made it 3-0 just 28.0 seconds later when Kovarik had the ball down the right side and her cross found Caitlyn Smith who buried it for her third on the season.
The Griffins dominated play the rest of the finishing the half with a 25-0 shot advantage and led by three goals.
In the second half, the Griffins made it 4-0 when Claire Dalton's cross in the 51st minute found Kohenskey on the far post and she headed in the attempt. Fontbonne made it a 5-0 game two minutes later when Alexandria Smith passed the ball ahead for Kovarik. The Festus, Mo., native, got the loose ball and scored past Morgan Zobrist.
Alyson Carroll got in on the scoring frenzy in the 62nd minute when Caroline Neal's initial shot was saved by Zobrist, however Carroll was there to clean up netting her third on the year.
In the 64th minute, Kierstyn Weaver scored her third on the year from just inside the 18-yard box off a pass from Haley Buscher. In the 70th minute, Kovarik earned her fifth career hat-trick making it an 8-0 final.
