Women's basketball drops 74-71 contest at home against Aurora

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's basketball team surrendered a 10 point lead over the last two quarters of Saturday's game in H.J. Long Gymnasium as they fell 74-71 to Aurora.

The game featured the 1000th career point of senior Madelyn Stephen who knocked down two free throws in the early moments of the game to achieve the feat.

Greenville was led in scoring by the exploits of Emily Reinneck who had 18 points. Reinneck also paced the team with seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals.

Savana Powell-Goodman was a force off the bench with 16 points, and Stephen ended with 13.

The Panthers shot 42.4 percent from the field, making 25-of-59 shots, but they were hurting at the free throw line where they only sank 15-of-26 for a 57.7 percent rate.

The Panthers (4-1) will be off until Ozarks visits Greenville on Tuesday, Nov. 29, for a game at 4:30 p.m.
